Japanese Trio Crashes NYFW

Ever wanted to crash a fashion show during NYFW or better yet – how about the two best parties of the season?  Tom Ford and Marc Jacobs.  This Japanese trio figured out how, partied with A-listers like Sarah Jessica Parker and took NYFW by storm. Styled by Samantha Lim, fashion editor for Lookbooks.com, the girls sported Harajuku looks that even the strictest doormen didn't question.  To get into the coveted Tom Ford party, one of them pretended she was an editor of Vogue Japan, Mitsuko Watanabe.  Who's going to argue with that?  Once security realized the real Miss Watanabe was inside, they escorted the Lolitas out.  Do all Asians really look alike?

Rocking bustiers, tutus and platform boots from Lolli Popitt paired with dramatic false lashes that matched the colors of their airbrushed makeup done by makeup artist Dana James, the girls exuded confidence that no doorman would question.  It also helped that they didn't speak English very well.

Check out my video interview with them at the AHAlife fashion week party (which yes, they were invited to):

VIP Pass Inside the Industry: Lucky Magazine

Allow me to introduce you to Maura Lynch, the Senior Beauty Editor at one of your favorite shopping magazines, Lucky.  Maura's been writing in the beauty industry since she graduated college when she landed a coveted position – working with Eva Chen at Teen Vogue.  "It’s amazing how a lip gloss or perfume can lift someone’s mood. It’s more than just an aesthetic pleasure," she comments. Check out her interview for advice on how to get a job in editorial and to get a sneak peak of what life at Lucky is really like.

1. What college did you go to and what did you major in?

I went to Muhlenberg College—an amazing, tiny liberal arts school in Allentown Pennsylvania—and double-majored in English and Spanish. Originally, I wanted to do something more in the international studies realm (I love to travel, learn about different cultures, and study different languages), but after my freshman seminar with an extremely eccentric professor who specialized in Irish Literature, I knew I had to be an English major. Shout out to Dr. Rosenwasser!

2. How did you get into the industry and how many years have you been involved?

It’s sort of a happy accident. My junior year, I was thinking about getting into magazine journalism, and I was introduced to a very important beauty director at a very important magazine. When I heard that her job entailed testing out products, visiting spas, and writing about high-tech skincare, I knew I had found my calling, so I started interning and doing anything I could to get clips and experience. When I graduated, she tipped me off to a beauty assistant opening at Teen Vogue. I got the job, thankfully, and worked for Eva Chen for two years (sidebar, I could write a book about how fantastic that woman is), and then I went to work at ELLE for almost two years. I feel extremely lucky and blessed to have worked where I’ve worked, for the people I’ve worked for—and because I don’t want to end this sentence in a preposition, I would just like to…say that.

3. What’s your favorite part about working at Lucky?

The voice. We treat the reader like a best friend. Every new life-changing product I discover is a secret I can let them in on! When I’m writing, I try to envision saying the words out loud—would my friends totally make fun of me for using the word tresses? Probably. Plus, I think Lucky has some of the coolest readers. I think I actually would be friends with them. Some of the responses I’ve gotten on blogs are hilarious and super-informative.

4. What’s the worst?

I should probably say there is no worst part, but have you seen the magazine? The temptation! The pages are filled with things I want so badly, I can’t stand it. Every day, I pass by something new on a rack that I add to my mental shopping list. I seriously need to put my credit cards in the freezer.

5. Being that Lucky is one of my favorite shopping magazines, dish on where you shop and why.

I tend to avoid Manhattan on the weekends, so I’ve found boutiques in Brooklyn that I absolutely adore. Hands down, I always find something at Dear Fieldbinder in Cobble Hill—they have an amazing but not overwhelming selection of some of my favorite lines like Parker, Myne, and Corey Lynn Calter. I recently bought a Grey Antics dress there, and a few weeks later I saw an Arcade Fire show and the violinist had on the same dress! That means I made a good purchase, right? Matching dresses are totally acceptable when it’s a rock star. For jewelry, I can’t stay away from the Clay Pot—I stalk their supply of Jane Hollinger necklaces. And of course, Sephora and SpaceNK in case I’ve been away from the office for too long.

6. What are your career goals?

I honestly just love what I’m doing right now. If I can stay involved in the beauty world for the rest of my life, I’d be happy. I think one of the reasons I’ve continued to be so happy in this career is that beauty products bring so much joy to people. It’s amazing how a lip gloss or perfume can lift someone’s mood. It’s more than just an aesthetic pleasure.

7. What advice do you have for people trying to get into editorial today?

Intern and network to build your circle. Most likely, you won’t get your job from a listing on a site, but from a tip from someone you’ve met along the way. That’s why it’s so important to be gracious and enthusiastic for the smallest tasks as an intern. And don’t discount informational interviews—most editors remember what it was like at the start and will give you a few minutes of their time and advice.

8. Confess! What’s your biggest beauty sin?

I’m so bad about putting on eye cream, which is a horrible sin because your eyes show wrinkles before anywhere else. I’m not as bright-eyed and bushy-tailed in the morning as I used to be so I try to stick to an eye cream routine, but I rush too much before bed and in the morning.

9. What’s your guiltiest pleasure?

Mexican food! There are so many great Taquerias in Brooklyn. I could eat chips and guac every night if my waistline didn’t have a problem with it (but it does, unfortunately).

VIP Pass Inside the Industry: 5WPR

Today's sneak peak inside the industry feature's one of my favorite beauty publicists, Jessica Goon, the Associate Vice President at 5WPR.  She stared her career as a reporter for a daily newspaper, but has been "on the other side" for the past 6 years.  Working with brands like Ted Gibson (Anne Hathaway's stylist), Decleor and Halo/Air Salt Spas, she never has a dull day.  I first met Jess when I went freelance and she has been such an inspiration to me... now, allow her to inspire you! 1. How'd you break into the industry? I was an English major with a focus on journalism in college and broke into the industry by working several internships in both PR and news. As a college senior when everyone else was checked out, I would go to classes in the morning, spend afternoons at lacrosse practice and then spend nights alternating between my college newspaper offices and my internship at the local daily newspaper. It was hard work, but prepared me for working in PR where you're always multi-tasking, running from one place to another and writing on deadline.

2. What's your favorite part of being in PR? When all of the hard work comes together. In PR we spend months working on TV segments, magazine spreads and events for our clients and it can be stressful and sometimes discouraging. However, once you're actually there in the TV studio for a taping or backstage at fashion week it all feels worth it.

3. What’s the worst? Finding the time to get a pedicure.

4. If you could give advice to people trying to get into the industry today what would it be? Scoring internships and working hard are a...given to break into any industry.  Whenever I meet people looking to get into PR I tell them to read. Reading the news makes you a better writer, it keeps you informed about the industry and it familiarizes you with key reporters and what they cover.

4. Confess: What's your biggest beauty sin? Ted Gibson would probably tell me it's wearing my hair in a ponytail too often, but my real beauty sin is going to sleep with my make up on. I know! I know! But sometimes after a long day, I'm just too tired.

5. What's your guiltiest pleasure? Bad television. If it's on Bravo, MTV, E! or The CW, I've seen it. I like to think it keeps me updated on pop culture and trends, but it's really just good "bad" TV.

How To Get Naomi Watts New Do'

With her chiseled features and striking beauty, Naomi Watts can do no wrong in the hair department. I'm in awe of her fearlessness in experimenting! At the recent premiere of Salt, she once again failed to disappoint – showing off a flattering collarbone length bob with side-swept bangs. While not all of us are blessed with Naomi’s chameleon-like abilities on the red carpet, anyone can achieve this modern look with the right styling tips and products. Stylist Robert Vetica made the length “a bit longer in front and slightly higher in back,” and first cut the bangs “long and blunt, then razored and texturized to about the bridge of the nose” to create a fresh and healthy appearance.

To get Naomi’s naturally fine strands looking smoother, Vetica applied Moroccanoil Light to her damp hair, which acts as a detangler and helps to fight frizz – without making it greasy. After blow drying,... Vetica used Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray to achieve added shine and polish. One of Vetica's top hairspray tricks is to mist the hair quickly holding the bottle about 6" away and then immediately sliding a comb through it.  This will to loosen the look while keeping its hold.  A combination of low maintenance and Hollywood glamour at its best!

To learn more about the products that Vetica used, visit Moroccanoil.com.

Beat the Heat Makeup Tips

The heat wave in NYC is no joke right now.  I can't even wear anything on my face but mascara, eyeliner and a dab of cream blush if I have to wear makeup at all – but Rachel Bilson's makeup artist, Carol Shaw gave my friends at DailyMakeover the scoop on look cool despite the heat.  Here are her tips: Protect Your Skin

Keep your skin moist, healthy and protected with a foundation or tinted moisturizer that contains SPF. These skin savers will keep your skin protected and hydrated while evening out your skin with a beautiful flawless finish. Try: Lorac Anti-Aging SPF Breakthrough Performance Foundation. Don't forget about your lips, they need to be nourished and protected too! Find a lipstick that's creamy and moist with SPF and comes in great summer shades like coral, rose, pink and bronze.

Picture-Perfect with Powder

During the hot summer months we can get a little too shiny-- powder helps your makeup stay-put,... takes down the shine on your forehead, nose and chin and gives a silky-smooth finish. Powder is great for touch-ups on-the-go; it instantly makes your skin look fresh and flawless!

Long-Lasting Liner

Go from day-to-night with a long-lasting, water-resistant eyeliner. For day, add a thin line of black eye liner along top lashes for a smudge-proof, budge-proof, smooth, clean line that lasts in the summer heat. For hot steamy nights, wing your eyeliner with a flick at the outer corner for a sizzling summer cat eye!

VIP Pass to The Industry: Teen Vogue

I had the chance to speak with the Beauty Director of Teen Vogue, Eva Chen.  She's had a journey through "the industry" and is a very influential person not only to teens, but also to people who follow her on Twitter.  As the writer of the Teen Vogue beauty blog, Eva has dipped seamlessly into online media, while maintaining her love for print.  Check out what she has to say about her career path and advice on getting in... How did you get into the industry and how many years have you been involved? I never expected to work in the magazine industry and I think that’s one of the reasons why I love it so much now—it’s been an amazing and unexpected journey. I was pre-med in college and always thought I’d go to medical school. On a lark, the summer between my junior and senior year I interned at Harper’s Bazaar to give my brain a bit of a break. It really opened my eyes, though, to the larger world out there. I absolutely had a life-changing experience while I was there! After that, there was no turning back for me—it was magazines or bust! After I graduated college, I got a job at Lucky magazine (in fashion) and then went onto ELLE magazine (in beauty). My parents still tell me that it’s not too late for medical school. :)

What’s your favorite part of working at Teen Vogue? I love talking to and working with teens. Teens are amazing—they have the sophistication and appreciation for fashion that 20-somethings have, but they’re fearless. If you suggest that they try neon pink lips or crazy blue eyeshadow, they’ll go for it! There are no boundaries, fashion or beauty-wise. I also love the celebs we cover at Teen Vogue. I’m much more interested in Taylor Lautner (or Swift!), then, say Brangelina.

Who’s your celebrity crush? As a card-carrying member of Team Edward, I’d have to say... Robert Pattinson! I was at the Soho House in Los Angeles a few weeks ago and saw him and literally tumbled down a flight of stairs from excitement. Oh dear.

What are your must-have beauty products? I’m a skincare-aholic! I wear SPF every day, even if it’s cloudy. Lately, I’ve been using Olay Regenerist SPF 50, which feels great but also has high coverage. I started using serum twice a day as well—think of it as a base coat for your skincare. I’ve seen a noticeable change in the texture of my skin, it’s just happier lately! I like Shiseido White Lucent, Nude Skincare, or Lancome Genefique (to name just a few). I exfoliate twice a week with Dermalogica Microfoliant. And I use face masks at least three times a week! Who needs a pricey facial when you can DIY (and the money saved can go towards shoes)!

What advice would you give to people who are trying to get into the industry today? Intern, intern, intern. And don’t ever let yourself get too big for your britches. Staying down to earth and having a sense of your true self is key—the fashion industry can sweep you away with its glamour, but remember that it’s a business.

Confess!  What’s your biggest beauty sin? I have a ridiculous sweet tooth, which is pretty terrible for skin. And even though I regularly dispense the advice “Don’t pick at your skin,” I can’t lie that I’ve gotten hands-on with my spots!

What’s your guiltiest pleasure? Besides online shopping 24-7, I’d have to say the copious amounts of terribly cheesy television I watch. I DVR Pretty Little Liars, WipeOut, Minute to Win It, Make it or Break It, the list goes on! I think of it as junk food for my brain!

Lindsay Lohan: Journey to Jail

I've been following Lindsay Lohan's career since she was in Parent Trap and currently find it so intriguing to follow her jail sentence.  All morning I've been watching E! and TMZ who have been live streaming everything from her arrival to court this morning to being handcuffed and taken to prison. I have to admit, unlike many– I have a weakness for Lilo.  There's something about the train wreck of the 24-year-old that I really like and now feel sorry for.  Everyone always focuses on her negatives (and yes, there are many), but she amuses me.  From her photo shoots to interviews overall, I like her.

I think her jail sentence is probably the only thing that will save her career and life.  It may be her second chance and a blessing in disguise.  Like many spoiled Hollywood young actresses (or young girls in general) people feel like they're invincible until they have to pay consequences.  For Lindsay, it's her turn.  I'm anxious to see how she changes after her sentence, and have optimistic thoughts.

What do you think?

VIP Pass to The Industry: The Beauty of Life Blog

Meet Jamie Allison Sanders, Editor In Chief of TheBeautyofLifeBlog.com.  Known on her blog as "the beauty chick," Jamie is one of the sweetest people in the biz.  She's spent years working in the world of beauty and reveals her true passions and coveted findings throughout her blog. Check out what she has to say about her guiltiest pleasures and the world of blogging.

What’s your favorite part of blogging?

Blogging is honestly the best combination of all my favorite things to do -- write, mingle with other people in the industry and play with beauty products! It's been so rewarding to meet other people who share my passion for lipgloss and candles -- and who actually care when M.A.C puts out a new collection or a new haircolor system like INOA is introduced. To meet some of the industry greats has been so incredible as well. I've gotten to speak with people whose names I've seen in magazines for 15 or 20 years -- that's been unbelievable.

What’s your least favorite?

Honestly? Follow up email upon follow up email from PR people. If I like a product, I WILL write about it! And if I never requested information from you in the first place, one email is enough. If I'm intrigued, I will write you back.

If you were going to give someone advice on starting a blog what would it be?

Really put in the time and effort! Don't expect it to come easily. Serious bloggers have been working on this for years -- and I can say from experience that a woman's work is never done! ...I'm constantly coming up with new ideas, trying new things, reworking and reworking ... and I'm still never satisfied. You have to really care about what you're doing and be willing to work REALLY hard.

Confess!  What’s your biggest beauty sin?

I don't EVER wash my face! In my defense, using cleanser actually makes my skin worse -- so I just do as little as possible to it.

What’s your guiltiest pleasure?

Spa treatments, without a doubt. I can be found getting a massage or a facial at LEAST twice a month. (My wallet is not so happy about that.) In my defense, I work pretty hard, so I like to treat myself! It's the only time I have to relax!

Kim's Wedding Dress Decision

This past Saturday night Kim Kardashian was spotted in this hot Herve Leger champagne bandage dress at Cipriani in New York City.

I'm a huge fan of Kim K. and think she looks smokin' hot (as always), but she wore this to a wedding!  She flaunted her best assets (yes, the lucky biotch has more than one) to the wedding of Carmelo Anthony of the Denver Nuggets and MTV VJ, Lala Vazquez.

What do you think of Kim's choice of cocktail dress for a wedding? I would not be a happy bride if one of my friends showed up looking like this to my wedding!

How To Get Cameron Diaz's Beach Waves

I've been watching E!'s special on Cameron Diaz over and over because each time I watch I pay attention to different parts and learn so much about her.  As a huge fan I'm always intrigued by what she's going to be staring in next or who she'll be wearing. For her recent British Vogue cover, Oribe gave her beachy waves that appear to be simple, but as any girl knows, they take some work.  He spoke with DailyMakeover.com about the look.  "The look had to be about relaxed glamour," commented Oribe. "The shoot was on a beach in Malibu, so it had to have that casual "Cameron" feeling, but yet be a little glam and certainly sexy."

To get her wavy look at home, spray Oribe Voluminista through the hair, then blow-dry using a Mason Pearson brush, or a round brush on the front sections. Use Dry Texturizing Spray at the roots for a sexy lift. Since Cameron's hair is fine, I spray this throughout the length of the hair in some sections to create sultry texture all over.

Beauty & Style: Rock and Roll Divas

I have a few concerts lined up this summer, but just realized that they're all male performers!  From Dave Matthews Band to Jay Z, I won't be seeing any of these ladies live in action, but I definitely won't be missing a beat when it comes to their style. I cannot wait to hear about all of Lady Gaga's shows and am so mad I'm not seeing her in NYC as I'm always fascinated by her outfits.  Recently I was checking out DailyMakeover's slide show of singers and had to share.

Which summer concerts are you checking out this summer?

Check out their looks:

Miley's New 'Do

As soon as I saw this photo of Miley Cyrus, it hurt.  She parted with her extensions and I felt it.  Being an extension wearer myself I cannot imagine my life without them. As different as Miley and I are (and thank God for that) – we both go to the same NYC salon to lengthen our locks – Gemini 14.  Having extensions is like a healthy addiction.  I mean, it's not like being an alcoholic, but it is an expensive habit to upkeep.  In between sets of extensions it is recommended to give your hair a break.  During the break you're supposed to freshen up your cut and color.  I have yet to experience this, but I'm dreading it!

I have to admit though, this new cut on Miley looks fantastic!  She got it done by stylist to the stars, Scott Cunha of the Andy Lecompte Salon in West Hollywood. She doesn't look as skanky and it gives her a refreshed, more mature look.  Let's hope she matches her personality to it.

Miley fan or not, what do you think of her new look?

VIP Pass to "The Industry:" Seventeen

I first met Heather Muir of Seventeen when she was working for Cosmopolitan.  As a publicist, I took her out for mani's and pedi's at the Townhouse Spa and couldn't wait to chat with her because she just took my old job at Cosmo and I couldn't wait to tell her how much fun she was about to have.  Now, she's flourished in the industry and is climbing her way to the top! Check out what she has to say: What’s your favorite part of working at Seventeen? I adore working with teen girls. They’re refreshing and willing to take big beauty risks. They make beauty fun—exactly what it should be! Who’s your celebrity crush? Guy: James Franco and Channing Tatum are neck and neck. Girl: It’s a three-way tie...Megan Fox, Mila Kunis, and Kim Kardashian (I have a thing for brunettes!). What are your must-have beauty products? There are too many to name. Every time I go into the beauty closet, I walk out with another favorite. I use Proactiv to keep my skin clear. Right now, I’m obsessed with Jouer Luminizing Moisture Tint... For mascara, I’m a Maybelline Define-A-Lash girl. I use By Terry Rose Balm on my lips. I take bubble baths with Kai Body Wash. I don’t use much product in my hair, but when I wear it curly, Motions Foaming Wrap Lotion gives me the best waves. The list goes on and on. I’m a product junkie. I’ve been collecting since my internship. There’s no way I’ll ever be able to use all the products I have under my bathroom sink in my lifetime. What advice would you give to people trying to get into the industry today? Get an amazing internship on your resume so you can make great contacts. It was my golden ticket! (And work really, really hard!) Confess! Your biggest beauty sin: Falling asleep with makeup on. YIKES, I know. Even with face wipes on my nightstand, sometimes I’m just too tired! What’s your guiltiest pleasure? Weekly: mani/pedi/blowout. I save lash extensions and spray tans (Anna at Rita Hazan is the best!) for special occasions :)

Exclusive Interview with Paris Hilton

Allow me to tease you with a new fragrance not on the market yet, Tease by Paris Hilton, Paris's 10th fragrance.  With top notes of Hollywood glamour, middle notes of Marilyn Monroe and bottom notes of shamelessly flirting, the scent dedicates itself to iconic blondes, Miss Hilton's key inspiration. Holding true notes of fuji apple, white peach nectar and bergamot layered by jasmine and tuberose on top of amber and woods, the sent is fresh and perfect for summertime.

Paris Hilton, the heiress herself gave BeautySweetSpot the 411 on her girl crush, latest splurges and of course, her guilty pleasures.

Why did you decide to tap into the fragrance industry?

I think having the right fragrance can leave such a lasting impression on people and I wanted to be a part of that. Smelling great can make you feel more sexy and confident and I want my fans to always feel great about themselves.

Explain your girl crush on Marilyn Monroe.

Marilyn Monroe has always been such an inspiration to me. She is beautiful and such an icon.

What are your absolute favorite beauty products?

I love Kate Sommerville products and use them on a regular basis.

What was your most recent splurge?

I just got back from Egypt and was in France right before that, so I did a little shopping while there.

What’s your biggest guilty pleasure?

I am constantly in meetings, working and traveling so my biggest guilty pleasure is relaxing when I have some free time. I’ll lay in bed and catch up on TV or go to the spa or just get dinner with some of my friends, something low key.

VIP Pass to 'The Industry': Good Housekeeping

I first met April Franzino when I was working in the print world at Cosmopolitan.  She is by far one of the sweetest beauty editors around so I'm excited to introduce you to her!  Check out her dish on what it's like behind the scenes at Good Housekeeping and listen to her advice on how to get in 'the industry:' What’s your favorite part of working at Good Housekeeping?

There are so many things I love about working at GH— first and foremost, the people! They make coming to work every day truly a joy. I also love that every day is different— some days I’ll be interviewing experts, writing one of my pages, pitching ideas or meeting with our top editors, and others I’ll be meeting with beauty executives, attending launches, and trying new products. It never gets monotonous, and I’m grateful for every minute.

Who’s your celebrity crush?

I have a weakness for James Franco; he’s smart, funny, and there’s something about those eyes!

What are your must-have beauty products?

I could go on forever, but my Hall of Fame includes: Johnson’s Softwash Melt Away Stress 24 Hour Moisturizing Wash, The Body Shop Shea Body Scrub, Aubrey Organics Crème de la Shave in Toasted Almond, Herbal Essences Hydralicious Reconditioning Shampoo, Bumble and Bumble Crème de Coco Masque (transforms my hair from straw-like to soft and shiny unlike anything else), Smooth ‘N Shine Miracle Leave-In Treatment Conditioner, Josie Maran Bear Naked Wipes (they’re biodegradable and smell like grapefruit!), Nude Cleansing Facial Oil, Suki Renewal Bio-Resurfacing Facial Peel, Kiehl’s Acai Damage-Protecting Toning Mist, Elizabeth Arden Pure Finish Mineral Tinted Moisturizer SPF 15, Well People The Narcissist Mineral Crème Foundation/Concealer (moisturizing and masks all sins), Victoria’s Secret VS Makeup Bronzer/Highlighter Trio in Gilded, Philosophy The Color of Grace Amazing Grace Shimmering Face Powder (nothing gives an instantly ethereal glow like this!), Korres Jasmine Lip Butter, Mally Evercolor Shadow Stick in Brown (or any shade— eyes made easy!), and CoverGirl LashBlast Mascara (I’ve tested tons and have never found one that can compete).

What advice would you give to people trying to into the industry today?

I’d recommend getting as many internships and clips under your belt as you can—whether they’re in print or on the web; it’s the best way to experience the ins and outs of beauty publishing, and make contacts who can help you when you’re searching for a job. And don’t get discouraged— jobs are few and far between these days, but the people who want them most and are willing to persevere will end up where they want to be.

Confess!  Your biggest beauty sin:

I neglect my nails in the worst way; they are definitely my beauty shame— always have been, and probably always will be. I’ve come to terms with it!

What’s your guiltiest pleasure?

None of my pleasures are guilty!

Exclusive Interview with Gabby Reece

Gabby Reece is not an ordinary professional volley ball player.  Named one of the top five most beautiful women in the world by Elle magazine in the late '80's, her phenomenal body has also graced the covers of Shape and Playboy.  I got the blonde bombshell to dish her beauty and fitness secrets. She credits her glow to Vaseline Aloe Fresh and fab bod not only to volley ball but also to weight training, ballet bar classes like Physique 57 and running in the sand, however she doesn't give up her guiltiest pleasure: chocolate.

Check out my exclusive video interview with Gabby below:

VIP Pass to 'The Industry': Gwen Flamberg, US Weekly

She works at one of the hottest celebrity focused magazines on the news stands. Guaranteed you eagerly run to grab a copy every Wednesday. Check out what US Weekly's Beauty Director, Gwen Flamberg, has to say about 'the industry.'
What’s your favorite part of working at US Weekly?

My favorite part of working at Us is being in the know on everything! I love that I’m a walking pop culture blog and that I can get on the phone with the top top top hairstylists and makeup artists when I need to — I mean, I’ve got Harry Josh on speed dial!  I know exactly how Gisele gets that hair and I was probably the first beauty editor in the biz to know what lipstick Sandra Bullock wore at the Oscars (Chanel Rouge Coco in Paris #22 for those still in the dark!)

Who’s your celebrity crush?

The guys I’m digging right now: Alexander Skaarsgard from True Blood and Charlie Hunnam from Sons of Anarchy. And then there’s SNL’s Will Forte...

What are your must-have beauty products?

Skincare by Tracie Martyn and Skinmedica. Couldn’t live without either. MAC Greasepaint Sticks are the most perfect eyeliners to smoke out. And I’m a sucker for any slightly sheer red lipstain.

What advice would you give to people trying to into the industry today?

Build your unique voice and love what you do and be kind to others! Quoting the incredible Conan O’Brien: “If you work hard and you’re nice to people, amazing things will happen.”

Confess!  Your biggest beauty sin:

I want my hair to be lighter and brighter, but I don’t want to give up my “virgin hair” status (I’ve never colored it, and don’t want to start now!) - so I refuse to wear a hat at the beach – I TRY to get sun on it, even though I know the scalp is a hot spot for skin cancer!

What’s your guiltiest pleasure?

Travel! Relaxing on a beach in Brazil is where I feel prettiest... There’s nothing quite like a getaway glow!

Vaseline's #1 Draft Pick: Michael Strahan

I'm excited to be able to write about one of my favorite football players of all time, Michael Strahan. Even though I'm a hard core Dallas Cowboys fan (by birth), I met him once at a party and he was very nice, down to earth and fun to be around.  And yes, I might have been able to fit my whole finger in between his two front teeth, but I still think he's cute.  Everyone has their flaws right? Vaseline Men recently signed the Superbowl star as their latest spokesperson and I had to share the video below with you.  I think he's just as charming in this video as he is in real life (try not to get distracted by his gleaming arm muscles that must be coated in Vaseline!).

Do you know someone who's a Strahan fan?  I'm giving away two autographed footballs! Father's Day is right around the corner and it might make some one a very happy dad.

Here's how to win:

Comment below and tell me why Michael Strahan's your #1 draft pick to win.  The two winners will be chosen at random on Friday, May 21st.  Check back on the comments at the end of the day to see if it's you!
