VIP Pass to The Industry: The Beauty of Life Blog

Meet Jamie Allison Sanders, Editor In Chief of TheBeautyofLifeBlog.com.  Known on her blog as "the beauty chick," Jamie is one of the sweetest people in the biz.  She's spent years working in the world of beauty and reveals her true passions and coveted findings throughout her blog. Check out what she has to say about her guiltiest pleasures and the world of blogging.

What’s your favorite part of blogging?

Blogging is honestly the best combination of all my favorite things to do -- write, mingle with other people in the industry and play with beauty products! It's been so rewarding to meet other people who share my passion for lipgloss and candles -- and who actually care when M.A.C puts out a new collection or a new haircolor system like INOA is introduced. To meet some of the industry greats has been so incredible as well. I've gotten to speak with people whose names I've seen in magazines for 15 or 20 years -- that's been unbelievable.

What’s your least favorite?

Honestly? Follow up email upon follow up email from PR people. If I like a product, I WILL write about it! And if I never requested information from you in the first place, one email is enough. If I'm intrigued, I will write you back.

If you were going to give someone advice on starting a blog what would it be?

Really put in the time and effort! Don't expect it to come easily. Serious bloggers have been working on this for years -- and I can say from experience that a woman's work is never done! ...I'm constantly coming up with new ideas, trying new things, reworking and reworking ... and I'm still never satisfied. You have to really care about what you're doing and be willing to work REALLY hard.

Confess!  What’s your biggest beauty sin?

I don't EVER wash my face! In my defense, using cleanser actually makes my skin worse -- so I just do as little as possible to it.

What’s your guiltiest pleasure?

Spa treatments, without a doubt. I can be found getting a massage or a facial at LEAST twice a month. (My wallet is not so happy about that.) In my defense, I work pretty hard, so I like to treat myself! It's the only time I have to relax!
