When Bad Hair Cuts Happen to Good People

Spotted: Cameron Diaz with short, somewhat curly hair at the Weinstein's Golden Globes after party.  What was she thinking?  I normally feel horrible for good people who receive bad hair cuts, but really?  She should have known better!  Short and curly?  Two styles that never mix! What do you think of Cameron's new 'do?

Teen Choice Awards Trend Report: Sleek 'Do's

The 13th annual Teen Choice Awards were held last night in Los Angeles, CA and while most of the young starlettes including Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez and of course Kim and Kourtney Kardashian looked radiant on the blue carpet, I couldn't help but admire the sleek, straight, glossy locks of Ashley Greene, Cameron Diaz and Blake Lively. "Modern, sleek hair is so hot at the moment," exclaims celeb stylist (and the genius behind Ashley Greene's strands) Ted Gibson.

Here's a breakdown on how-to get the look:

1. Spritz a blow drying prep spray like Blow Heat is On Dry Protective Styling Mist onto damp hair and part it exactly where you'd like it to lay.

2. Blow dry with a flat brush, and apply a frizz controlling lotion like Ted Gibson Tame It Shine Lotion from mid-shaft to ends.

3. Flat iron in one to two inch sections all around your head and finish with a light-weight hairspray for a bit of control.

How To Get Cameron Diaz's Beach Waves

I've been watching E!'s special on Cameron Diaz over and over because each time I watch I pay attention to different parts and learn so much about her.  As a huge fan I'm always intrigued by what she's going to be staring in next or who she'll be wearing. For her recent British Vogue cover, Oribe gave her beachy waves that appear to be simple, but as any girl knows, they take some work.  He spoke with DailyMakeover.com about the look.  "The look had to be about relaxed glamour," commented Oribe. "The shoot was on a beach in Malibu, so it had to have that casual "Cameron" feeling, but yet be a little glam and certainly sexy."

To get her wavy look at home, spray Oribe Voluminista through the hair, then blow-dry using a Mason Pearson brush, or a round brush on the front sections. Use Dry Texturizing Spray at the roots for a sexy lift. Since Cameron's hair is fine, I spray this throughout the length of the hair in some sections to create sultry texture all over.

Red Carpet Hair Secret

There's a new winner in Hollywood and it's not an actor or actress... it's a volumizer from Liqwd.  It may not have taken home any Golden Globes, Oscars or Grammys itself, but the starlettes who have been swearing by have looked flawless on the red carpets and if they won, they probably would have thanked Liqwd in their speeches. Cameron Diaz and Vera Farmiga's stylists both used the Liqwd Volumizer Catalyst on the nominees before the Oscars last week.  "It's the greatest product for fine hair," stated Lona Vigi, Diaz's stylist.  It really helps lift the roots for a great blow out or volumized updo.

The technology behind the volumizing tactics in this product is super advanced.  Unlike other products that leave build up on each strand to make them appear fuller and thicker, this volumizer infuses your hair with moisture that makes each individual strand swell and separate.

You can purchase Liqwd Volumizer Catalyst, $28, here.
