The Truth Behind Kim Kardashian's "Vampire Facelift"

Is there anything Kim Kardashian wouldn't do to try and create a buzz? This time (I'm sure you saw), she filmed herself with blood smeared all over her face calling it a "Vampire Facelift."  Of course, eager to find out what the treatment was all about, I heard from Dr. Bruce Katz, the Director of the Cosmetic Surgery & Laser Clinic at Mount Sinai Medical Center, who gave me the facts. “First of all, there is no such thing as a “vampire facelift," he stated.  "There is, however, a product that can be used which is mixed with your own blood as a platelet rich plasma to be injected into the skin to rejuvenate the skin and treat wrinkles.”

Feeling a little woozy, I had to go on and find out how this treatment actually works.  I'm not such a good patient and any sight of blood freaks me out.  Basically, your own blood is taken, spun and prepared, then injected into soft tissue areas that need restoration.  (I'm going to pass out).  Dr. Katz says patients notice a great improvement in texture in a short amount of time.

He did clinical studies using this technique he calls the "Twilight Plasma Renewal Treatment" to treat hollow, sunken eyes (Kim Kardashian) and dark circles and claims he's seen "impressive results."

Khloe Kardashian On Khroma Beauty, Biggest Beauty Regret & Lamar's Grooming Obsession

On Friday night I had the opportunity to hang out with Khloe Kardashian at the Gansevoort Park to learn about the Kardashian sister's new makeup line, Khroma.  Now, she's my favorite Kardashian.  She's real, funny, down to earth and only uses her baby voice when she speaks of Lamar, which is kinda cute.  Here's the 411 on their new cosmetic line, Khloe's biggest beauty regret, must-have beauty product and of course, some scoop on her hubby. Surprised the Kardashian's didn't launch a cosmetic line sooner?  So am I.  Makeup has always been something the Kardashian's wanted to be involved in, turns out they were waiting for the right fit.  "We've been offered to do a line for years, but the companies all wanted us to lend our name and do everything ," Khloe commented.  "That's not how we work."

The sisters were involved with everything form the formulas to the packaging, font and name, which they brainstormed at the Soho House and stemmed from a doodle Kim drew on a note pad.  Khroma means color and the packaging is chrome, so it made sense.

Beauty Must Have

While the lash strips may be Kourtney and Kim's must-have in the line, it's the mascara that Khloe claimed as her baby.  "I'm very crazy about my mascara.  It's my one go-to makeup need in my bag."  While she has the luxury of working with makeup artists all the time, she never allows them to apply her mascara.  It's not that she has any fancy tricks, she's just so particular she knows how she likes it.  Khroma's A Stroke of Midnight is favorite.

Beauty Regret

Remember the 'Single Ladies' photo shoot the Kardashian sisters did for People when Kourtney was about nine months pregnant?  It resulted in Khloe's biggest beauty regret!  "I had a pompadour and harsh makeup, which was great for a photo shoot, but that's where it should have stayed," she stated.  After the photo shoot she had to walk a red carpet with Kim and didn't adjust her look.  A mistake she definitely learned from.  "In the photo it was cool and you understood it, but on the red carpet it didn't translate and I wish I could have told everybody why I looked like that."

Lamar's Grooming Obsession

Did you ever see the episode where Khloe gives Lamar a pedi?  Well turns out Lamar is s sucker for grooming.  He loves Khiels, the Facial Fuel line and Khloe laughed as she described how he washes his face.  "He's obsessed with washing his face and his bald head," she explained.  Who knew that guys without hair look at their heads as an extension of their faces?

Khroma Beauty is available at Ulta, CVS and other retailers with price points ranging from $7 - $20.

WIN!  I'm giving away four pieces of Khroma Beauty seen above!  Follow @BeautySweetSpot on Twitter and RT my tweet about the giveaway.

Kim Kardashian's Wedding Hair How To

You know I'm going to comment on Kim Kardashian's wedding and while I have a ton of opinions (gaudy version a royal wedding anyone?) the biggest surprise to me was that she pulled her hair back in a bun!  I expected to be distracted by her gorgeously layered extensions, but instead she allowed for her facial features and a diamond head piece to take center stage.  I spoke with NYC stylist, Fabian Lliguin, on how to create the chic chignon. First, add a styling cream like Bumble and Bumble Styling Creme onto damp hair for control and blow dry it in the direction you want your hair to end up, straight back.  Comb your hair straight back and secure it into a low ponytail at the nape of your neck. Use a comb to tease underneath the pony tail in sections and spritz a working hairspray as you build volume with the tease.  This is key to creating the look.  Smooth hair down over the height and work it around the elastic into a bun.  Tuck it under the nape of the neck and secure with bobby pins.

Teen Choice Awards Trend Report: Sleek 'Do's

The 13th annual Teen Choice Awards were held last night in Los Angeles, CA and while most of the young starlettes including Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez and of course Kim and Kourtney Kardashian looked radiant on the blue carpet, I couldn't help but admire the sleek, straight, glossy locks of Ashley Greene, Cameron Diaz and Blake Lively. "Modern, sleek hair is so hot at the moment," exclaims celeb stylist (and the genius behind Ashley Greene's strands) Ted Gibson.

Here's a breakdown on how-to get the look:

1. Spritz a blow drying prep spray like Blow Heat is On Dry Protective Styling Mist onto damp hair and part it exactly where you'd like it to lay.

2. Blow dry with a flat brush, and apply a frizz controlling lotion like Ted Gibson Tame It Shine Lotion from mid-shaft to ends.

3. Flat iron in one to two inch sections all around your head and finish with a light-weight hairspray for a bit of control.

My Night with Kim Kardashian, A Peek Inside An Industry Event

Last week I attended a Fusion Beauty Event with Kim Kardashian.  Even though I've met her before, this was different.  It was an intimate cocktail party with Kim at Villa Parci in the Meatpacking District and a select amount of other bloggers and I actually got to hang out and converse with her for an hour and a half. I admire her so much because before anything, she's a business woman.  Kim spoke to the Fusion Beauty collection, which she's a Spokesperson for and then answered any questions we had and just hung out.  She's very sweet and down to earth and yes, stunning.  She wore n a grey bandage skirt with a lace top, black bra peeking through and black Louboutins.  I had to ask her what her guiltiest pleasure was since I was thinking of BeautySweetSpot and she said watching mystery shows.

Out of all of the Fusion Beauty products discussed Kim clearly loved the Illumifil the most. It's a primer with light reflecting properties that her makeup artists use both under and over her foundation depending on the look they're trying to create.  My favorite Fusion Beauty product – a balm called Bitten.

If you really want to see what the event was like, check out the below footage.  I got some of it on tape!  Kim spills her date night makeup tips:

Hollywood's Latest Must-Have: Clip In Bangs

Ever one to make a bold fashion statement, Kim Kardashian has been spotted recently sporting bangs. I’m amazed by how drastic Kim is willing to go looks-wise- like last year, when she went from her trademark long dark locks to blonde. And to me at least, bangs are just as much of a serious commitment as a new hair color, since they completely transform one’s look and require different types of styling. Well, Kim’s new bangs almost had me fooled….until I found out they weren’t actually real! Kim has been wearing clip-in bangs, Hollywood’s latest hair fad that has also been seen on the likes of Lea Michele and Jessica Simpson.  If you’ve always wondered how you would look with bangs but aren’t ready to hit the scissors just yet, these bangs are the perfect solution.

Kymaro Clip-In Bangs are a great option because they’re easy to use, incredibly affordable, and closely resemble human hair (unlike so many fake hair options out there)!  You simply clip the bangs in, and they’re heat friendly so they can be customized in any style you desire. They also come in an array of 15 shades, making it easy for you to choose one that’s close to your own hair color.

What do you think about this new hair accessory? Are you ready for some fringe?

How to Get A Perfect Butt

Lately I've been obsessing over getting a perfect booty.  What girl doesn't want one?  As a regular fitness guru I workout about five times a week and would say I'm overall "in shape," but of course, never satisfied.  The booty however... is no where near where it needs to be. OK enough about my booty... let's talk about nice butts in general.  Striving for a backside like Kim Kardashian is like shooting for the stars (especially if you're a tiny white girl like me), but getting a nice, round butt isn't.  I can't get over the fact that people are paying about $10,000 for silicone butt implants!  I mean, will they become as accepted and popular as breast implants one day?

Another option – fat injections – the Brazilian butt lift.  This is... where fat from your thighs or stomach is removed and then strategically injected into your booty to shape it and make it bigger. Sounds like a dream come true to me!  But, is it practical?

My choice - squats and lunges.  I'm currently obsessed.  Even though I've always incorporated them into my workout routine, it's go time.  Looking to get your ass in gear (literally) check out my new workout:

Starting on your right side and do a set of ten lunges. Next, go right into squat jumps, where you stand feet hips distance apart, squat and jump up.  Repeat ten times.  Then, do a set of ten lunges on the left side.  Repeat this exercise pyramiding down the number of reps so the next time around do sets of nine, then eight, etc.

It's intense!  But I'm gonna get that booty!

Kim's Wedding Dress Decision

This past Saturday night Kim Kardashian was spotted in this hot Herve Leger champagne bandage dress at Cipriani in New York City.

I'm a huge fan of Kim K. and think she looks smokin' hot (as always), but she wore this to a wedding!  She flaunted her best assets (yes, the lucky biotch has more than one) to the wedding of Carmelo Anthony of the Denver Nuggets and MTV VJ, Lala Vazquez.

What do you think of Kim's choice of cocktail dress for a wedding? I would not be a happy bride if one of my friends showed up looking like this to my wedding!

VIP Pass to "The Industry:" Seventeen

I first met Heather Muir of Seventeen when she was working for Cosmopolitan.  As a publicist, I took her out for mani's and pedi's at the Townhouse Spa and couldn't wait to chat with her because she just took my old job at Cosmo and I couldn't wait to tell her how much fun she was about to have.  Now, she's flourished in the industry and is climbing her way to the top! Check out what she has to say: What’s your favorite part of working at Seventeen? I adore working with teen girls. They’re refreshing and willing to take big beauty risks. They make beauty fun—exactly what it should be! Who’s your celebrity crush? Guy: James Franco and Channing Tatum are neck and neck. Girl: It’s a three-way tie...Megan Fox, Mila Kunis, and Kim Kardashian (I have a thing for brunettes!). What are your must-have beauty products? There are too many to name. Every time I go into the beauty closet, I walk out with another favorite. I use Proactiv to keep my skin clear. Right now, I’m obsessed with Jouer Luminizing Moisture Tint... For mascara, I’m a Maybelline Define-A-Lash girl. I use By Terry Rose Balm on my lips. I take bubble baths with Kai Body Wash. I don’t use much product in my hair, but when I wear it curly, Motions Foaming Wrap Lotion gives me the best waves. The list goes on and on. I’m a product junkie. I’ve been collecting since my internship. There’s no way I’ll ever be able to use all the products I have under my bathroom sink in my lifetime. What advice would you give to people trying to get into the industry today? Get an amazing internship on your resume so you can make great contacts. It was my golden ticket! (And work really, really hard!) Confess! Your biggest beauty sin: Falling asleep with makeup on. YIKES, I know. Even with face wipes on my nightstand, sometimes I’m just too tired! What’s your guiltiest pleasure? Weekly: mani/pedi/blowout. I save lash extensions and spray tans (Anna at Rita Hazan is the best!) for special occasions :)
