The Glamour December issue is always my favorite as it celebrates their "Women of the Year." This year, Lady Gaga is included and of course, landed their cover. Here's a behind the scenes video of Gaga at Glamour talking about her new album "ARTPOP," what makes her feel beautiful and why she loves her fans. I appreciate it, because it's very raw, yet very Gaga. Enjoy!
My Intimate Night with Gaga... Really, I Touched Her and Watched Her Get Inked... Plus Grabbed A Video of All the Action
Thursday night I attended Lady Gaga's launch party for her new fragrance, Fame, at the Guggenheim Museum along with anyone who is anyone in NYC. It was a true masquerade. Along with top influencers in the beauty industry, Yoko Uno, Marc Jacobs, Jessica Stam, Michael Strahan, Charlotte Ronson, Alexander Wang, and I sipped champagne in awe as we watched Gaga get a new tattoo inside a replica of her fragrance bottle.
When I arrived, I walked the red carpet and entered into the museum wearing a Zara cocktail dress with lace overlay on top and feathers on bottom. My Walter Steiger booties weren't even my main accessory. The invite stated, "Head piece required." I donned a super chic black headband with tulle flowers that had a mesh, black veil. Greeted by Gaga's harness men upon entry I found my friends, found the bar and observed.
A video began to play directed by Steven Klein for the fragrance launch and to my surprise I come to find out that Gaga was in the fragrance replica! She was in there! Acting like Sleeping Beauty, draped in fur, people quickly lined up to touch her. Yes, to touch and try to wake Gaga. Of course I pushed my way through the crowd with Dina from eye4style, Marina from makeuplovesme and Sarah from styleitonline (check out her mask gallery here) and we all touched Gaga. Or maybe I should say we reached into the fragrance replica where she was sleeping, grabbed her hand and harassed her nails to check out the mani situation. Worth it!
After she awoke, the song "Fame" by David Bowie blasted throughout the museum and we got a sneak peek into her life backstage. Her glam squad rushed in, Gaga spritzed herself with her fragrance and before we knew it, we were watching her get inked. This was the art in the middle of the Guggenheim. Gaga was on display. Her personal life was on display for all of us who cared. And we did care.
This is what we saw:
As for the fragrance, see my review here.
Lady Gaga Fame is Here and I Got A Sneak Peek!
I've already expressed my excitement over Gaga's new fragrance and am happy to announce that it's arrived! Receiving the samples felt very surreal as a sleek black bag arrived at my apartment with two samples of the black liquid awaiting my approval. I don't normally get like this about celebrity fragrances as I can't stand the whole concept to be honest, but I think Gaga did it right. Fame is Lady Gaga. It's the first black perfume, but don't worry once you spritz it, it becomes clear once in contact with the air. Gaga was quoted saying, "It smells like an expensive hooker," and despite the rumors of her blood being in the fragrance, it is very much a piece of her.
I showed the video directed by Steven Klein behind the fragrance two weeks ago, which is very sensual. Her fragrance is as well topped off with notes of honey, saffron and apricot nectar, followed by tiger orchid and jasmine. It's labeled as a fruity floral, but one I'd wear at nighttime. Overall it's innovative and impressive.
Lady Gaga Launches Her 1st Perfume and It's Black
Lady Gaga's first fragrance, Fameis due out this September and I can't wait to smell it, but besides the intriguement that comes along with Gaga herself creating a scent, the formula is also mystifying, as it's black then goes clear once sprayed. Surprised? Didn't think so. Excited to check it out? Me too, so I leave you with this trailer for the film Gaga created with director Steven Klein for her fragrance. Enjoy!
The 411 on Lady Gaga's 'Born This Way' Body Art
Last week the 2012 Grammy Nominations Concert was held at the Nokia Theater in LA and Lady Gaga kicked it off with a performance of "Born This Way." As expected, she performed in full costume, and the skeletal body art is no joke. To pull it off for her music video and preformace, Gaga worked with a team of Temptu Pro Makeup & Body Artists. Check out the video below to see how it was done.
A New Wave in Hair Accessories: Crystal, Tinsel and Feathers
The words "hair accessory" are taking on a whole new meaning. Inspired by some of our favorite rockstars creative hair 'do's , Rihanna, Lady Gaga and Katy Perry, we can now experiment with our locks in brand new ways. Great Lengths recently introduced Swarovski Crystal Extensions and feather and tinsel hair extensions are also all the rage. "Women are seeing celebrities experiment with their hair and think it's beautiful and attainable," commented Jan Marie Marteca of the Ted Gibson Salon. "They're going to start to embrace everything from pastel pink highlighted extensions to pops of tinsel."
The Swarovski crystal extensions last as long as regular Great Length extensions (about three to four months) and are bonded to your hair. I first saw the feather hair extension while at the Sundance Film festival and think it looks best when the feather is the same tone as your hair. For instance, if you have brown hair, go with a brown feather so it blends nicely and acts as an accent and doesn't look cheesy.
Beyonce sported gold tinsel at the Grammys this year and Jan spotted tinsel extensions at this year's Hair Show. They're finely knotted around a few strands of your hair and last a few weeks. The accent may look cute for a special occasion (Grammys anyone?).

Beauty & Style: Rock and Roll Divas
I have a few concerts lined up this summer, but just realized that they're all male performers! From Dave Matthews Band to Jay Z, I won't be seeing any of these ladies live in action, but I definitely won't be missing a beat when it comes to their style. I cannot wait to hear about all of Lady Gaga's shows and am so mad I'm not seeing her in NYC as I'm always fascinated by her outfits. Recently I was checking out DailyMakeover's slide show of singers and had to share.
Which summer concerts are you checking out this summer?
