You’ve done a lot to prepare for Festival Season—shelling out $300 for the pass, driving 500 miles in a packed car, camping out—so you don’t want to miss a moment of music worrying about your second (or third....) day hair.  Celebrity hairstyles already dominated Coachella, so here are some braid ideas you can borrow for your next music festival.  No fuss!

Governor's Ball (June 5th-7th, Randall's Island, NYC)

Headliners: Drake, The Black Keys, deadmau5, Florence and the Machine, Lana Del Rey

This urban answer to the festival circuit demands street-style braids. Katy Perry’s pigtail braids stole the show at Moschino’s Coachella party. No one will notice (or care) that you haven’t washed your hair if you’re bold enough to rock these ’90’s-inspired plaits. All you need to do is part your hair down the middle, tuck the two sections behind your ears, and braid both sides. Fromm’s Diane Ionic Anti-Static Pin Tail Comb ($2.59, Ulta.com) works well to help you part, and smooth your hair into these two braids. Plus, it’s compact enough to fit into your fringe bag.

Bonnaroo (June 11th-14th, Manchester, TN)

Headliners: Billy Joel, Mumford and Sons, Kendrick Lamar, deadmau5

Because the name of this festival literally means “really good time” in Creole slang, opt for this whimsical braided headband a la Nicky Hilton. To get this look, try smoothing a little bit of Redken Braid Aid through your strands for added grip, then take a small section of hair just above your ear, braid it across the crown of your head, and then fasten underneath with a hair tie. Make sure your hair is pinned down tightly enough so it will last through you dancing the day away.

The Newport Folk Festival (July 24th-26th, Newport, RI)

Headliners: TBD, notable acts include Sufjan Stevens, The Decemberists, Brandi Carlisle

At 56 years-old, the Newport Folk is the founding father of modern music festivals. Newport has nothing to prove (this is where Bob Dylan went electric, after all), and prides itself on its laid-back, come-as-you-are vibe. So take a cue from this subtly gorgeous half-bun created by celebrity hairstylist Bridget Brager for Kate Bosworth. Find a tutorial for this look here, where Brager specifically recommends this look for second-day hair.
