Monday's Muse

Monday's Muse

This Monday's Muse is Robert Verdi. Last week during New York Fashion Week, I had the pleasure of going to Robert Verdi's Luxe Laboratory and chatting with the celebrity stylist, turned brand himself about his fabulous life and brand new show on Logo, "The Robert Verdi Show, Starring Robert Verdi!"

As soon as I began my career in the beauty industry I met Robert Verdi and was immediately inspired by his passion and drive. This was the first time I saw him since I began my new freelance career. Therefore I took his words of advice to heart, "Be opportunistic, grateful and let it happen."

Check out my interview with Robert Verdi about his new show, dressing Kathy Griffin for the Golden Globes and the hottest things to look for in fashion for fall 2010.

Monday's Muse

This Monday's Muse is perhaps the most popular girl around, Barbie.

The blonde bombshell is 125 years old and recently partnered with the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA). Twelve CFDA designers created one-of-a-kind Barbies that are currently being auctioned off on Ebay now through February 7th.

Participating designers include Rachel Roy, Tory Burch, Philip Crangi, Albertus Swanepoel, Kate Spade, Alexis Bittar, Devi Kroell, Isaac Mizrahi, Loraine Schwartz, Botkier, Betsey Johnson and Justin Giunta for Subversive Jewelry.

I had the pleasure to check these dolls out for myself last week and died when I saw them in person.  My two favorites by far were Justin Guinata (left) and Betsey Johnson's.  Each designer put their own personal touches to the dolls and they are in one word... stunning.

Check out the auction on Ebay to see the rest of the Barbie's up for grabs. You can also grab your own LBD Barbie in stores now (um... who doesn't want a LBD Barbie!) and accessorize her the way you want.

Monday's Muse

This Monday's Muse is Kathy Griffin.

Nominated for a Grammy for a second year in a row, the comedian looked fab on the red carpet last night. Obviously some credit is owed to all of her plastic surgery, a nose job and a ton of lipo, but she spilled some of her other secrets to E! personality Guliana Rancic.

"It's frustration and starvation," Griffin blamed for her thin figure.  As far as her breasts, "They're real!  I'm not pulling a Montag."  So maybe she hasn't had 10 plastic surgery procedures in one day, but I definitely think she's close to having ten in her lifetime!

Either way, Ms. Griffin was looking fantastic and credited her style to Mr. Robert Verdi, who I love.  Way to work the carpet lady!

Monday's Muse

This Monday's Muse in Tina Fey.

You would have thought she was playing one of her comedic roles at the Golden Globes this year when she showed up on the red carpet wearing a patterned, tiered dress that made her look like little Bo Peep.  Believe it or not it was by Zac Posen!  It just goes to show that just because you scored a dress by a hot designer doesn't mean you should wear it.

However a week later at the SAG awards the sun came out and beamed right down on Miss Fey as she held her head up high and walked the red carpet looking hotter than ever (even though she knew she was destroyed by the press for last weeks gown).  Her deep purple Ferragamo dress hugged her bod in all the right places and she looked absolutely stunning.

Cheers to Tina Fey's red carpet rebound!

Monday's Muse

Today's Monday's Muse is George Clooney.

He's going to be hosting a Hope for Haiti telethon for two hours on MTV on January 22nd.  It will air from 8-10pm and also broadcast on ABC, NBC, E!, CNN, HBO, CW, Style Network and the National Geographic Channel.

His organization, Not on Our Watch, already donated $1million dollars towards relief efforts.

So many celebs have been donating to various charities and efforts to help Haiti including: Gisele Bundchen, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, Oprah, Madonna, Tiger Woods, Alyssa Milano and many many more.  The devastating earthquake in Haiti has killed thousands and counting and these celebs have donated from thousands, even up to $1.5 million dollars each.

Make sure you tune in to one of the above channels to watch George Clooney's telethon and help Haiti.

Monday's Muse

This Monday's Muse is Angela Kinsey.

Most of you may recognize her as uptight Angela Martin from The Office, but this actress has recently taken on a new role as approachable Gigi, the Guardian Girlfriend in Clairol's new Nice n' Easy ad campaign.  Her role?  To help you find the color that's right for you.

Check out the video of Angela discussing her new gig.  She even admits to coloring her own hair (with Clairol of course!) because she has to constantly keep up with it for The Office.

Monday's Muse

This Monday's Muse is Demi Moore.

Take a close look at her photo to the left.  It's from her shoot for the cover of W magazine in December.

As fit as Demi may be (especially for her age), we all know about the harsh amount of air brushing that goes on behind the scenes in magazine art departments.  Besides the norm, all the concentration seems to have landed on Demi's missing left hip.

"When we met Demi for the W cover story, she was super-fit to start with.  There was absolutely no retouching on her hips or waist or legs," the photographers claimed to the NY Post.

Even if that was true, they did a pretty remarkable job on her face, decolletage and arms!  Koodos to the skills boys and for making women everywhere continue to achieve for that level of unattainable perfection.
