Emmy Beauty Trend: Short Styles

Short hair swept the Emmys last night!  Anyone notice the trend? When speaking to my blogger friends last week, many of them predicted lobs on the red carpet, but what was interesting was the way they were styled.  January Jones and Christina Hendrix  sported old-Hollywood waves, while Elizabeth Moss, Lena Dunham and Michelle Dockery opted for straight, sleek strands. But it was Claire Danes, who had everyone talking thanks to her faux bob.  Have long hair, but want to rock the trend? Here's how: To elongate her neck and show off her Armani Prive gown, Claire's stylist, Peter Butler decided to go for a short faux bob.  First, he applied mousse to her damp hair to help add texture and blow dried.  Next, he gave her a low side part and used a large-barreled curling iron to curl her hair inward, which also helped to smooth out her hair’s texture. Then, created two small pin curls at the nape of her neck and combed the top of her hair down and under, pinning as needed into the base.   To finish her look, he tucked the hair on the left side of Claire's head behind her ear and spritzing Frizz-Ease Moisture Barrier Firm Hold Hairspray for hold.

Here's a video I created about how to get the faux bob look, in case you're still a bit confused.  It's easier than you think!

5 Golden Globes Hairstyles to Steal

This summer I have eight weddings to attend.  Eight!  I'm sure you have your fair share of formal events too, or if you don't, you'll find excuses to cop these styles.  I rounded up my favorite hairstyles from the Golden Globes from top knots to sexy loose waves and everything in between for your viewing pleasure.

A sex kitten blowout with volume.

A glamourous ponytail with face framing pieces.

A texturized top knot.

Old hollywood inspired side swept waves.

Sleek with fringe.

Women are Sexiest at Age 31

Confidence is sexy.  There’s no denying that, but research has proven that the confidence level of women at different ages can make or break their attractiveness. According to a study, women are most attractive at 31 years-old.  Why?  Because once they get just past the big 3-0, women mature more, rid their insecurities, are well established, still youthful and more confident than ever.  Ever hear of being grown and sexy?  A-listers like Claire Danes, Jennifer Love Hewitt and Kate Hudson prove the study to be true.

With cougars being the term used to describe women 40+ who showcase sexiness and confidence, of course researchers have named the 31-year old set: puma is the term they use.  Pumas  take good care of themselves physically and mentally whether in a relationship or not.  In a survey of 2,000 men and women, 70 percent agreed that confidence was the key factor of attractiveness followed by physical beauty and sense of style.

I'm not a puma yet, but at least I know I have something to look forward to!  What do you think?  Do you agree?
