If you follow me on Instagram, then you might have seen my story about my magical experience on a press trip with Farmacy Beauty. We toured Co-Founder, Mark Veeder's, 7-acre lush property in Forestburgh, NY and then went to the farm where their hero ingredient is harvested in Damascus, PA. You know I've always been a fan of natural skincare, but seeing first hand how the ingredients are nourished for efficacy made me appreciate it even more.
Adventures at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach
Over the holiday weekend last week, Joe and I escaped to Miami for some R & R. We stayed for the first time at the Fontainebleau and took full advantage of everything the property had to offer. Besides the pool and beach, I'm excited to tell you about my Miami lipstick wardrobe, the restaurants and of course, share more on the spa that blew me away.
What to Know Before Getting an Ayurvedic Massage
This week in Miami, Joe and I were able to enjoy the Lapis Spa at the Fontainebleau for a few hours. Typically, when we get spa treatments on vacation, we always opt for deep tissue couples massages. This time however, something else caught my eye on the spa menu and I'm glad I tried it. After all, it is part of my job! With an open mind and spiritual interest, I tried an Ayurvedic massage called Abhyanga, which is an ancient Indian massage therapy that uses a combination of oils according to your Dosha type in order to unblock your chakras and relieve stress. Dosha? Chakras? Allow me to explain. Here's everything you should know before trying an Ayurvedic massage.
An LA Scene Made for the Movies at the Mondrian Hotel
Los Angeles is hands down one of my favorite places in the world. A strong statement, I know, but I can truly see myself living there eventually. I'm fortunate that I often get sent there for work and am hoping to be a full-time LA resident one day. Joe and I are both kind of sold. This week I was shooting an exciting campaign with People magazine (I can't wait to share it!) and stayed at the Mondrian in West Hollywood. Of course, after work, I extended my stay and had a drink waiting by the pool for Joe when he got in from the airport.
The Bellagio: A Fountain of Fun in Las Vegas
After a business trip to Salt Lake City, UT for Sundance, Joe and I decided to hop over to Vegas for a few nights. We were right there, it would have been a sin if we didn't. Our hotel of choice, The Bellagio. Located in the center of the strip and famous for the fountains that are beautifully choreographed to music, the hotel had everything we were looking for from food to fitness.
Westgate Park City Resort & Spa
After snowmobiling at Sundance, Joe and I spent the afternoon at the Serenity Spa at our hotel, the Westgate Part City Resort & Spa, which was such a treat! Attending the Sundance film festival is far from a vacation. The movie schedules are crazy and shuffling to and from events in the snow during the overcrowded week is exhausting so a time out was much appreciated. This was the first time I felt truly relaxed at a spa in a very long time.
Staying Fit & Healthy on A Cruise
Did you see my Instagram pics from last weekend? I was on a cruise! That's right, Royal Caribbean launched a new ship, Quantum of the Seas, and invited Joe and I to set sail for two nights to check it out. Let me tell you, I've been on Royal Caribbean cruises before with my family, but this ship is a game changer – especially for people like us – who like to indulge on vacation sans the calories. Here's what I mean...
A Rude Awakening in Italy
On a recent trip to Italy with Joe, we encountered something that I had to talk about. Of course, I planned on coming home to write a blog post on my travel beauty must-haves (like this one), but never imagined witnessing something that affected me so deeply I haven't stopped thinking about it. It's not sitting well with me, and while I can't do much about the situation, I can raise awareness and try. So here you go...
