NYC: Healthy Restaurant Guide

Not only have we stalked them on Instagram, but we also tried them ourselves.  Here are our favorite healthy restaurants in NYC.

1. By Chloe - Greenwich Village

Best Seller: The Guac Burger, which rivals Shake Shack.

Prepare to be amazed. By Chloe serves only 100% vegan, delicious food. Not only is it yummy and photogenic, but it's affordable and quick, too. Nearly every menu option is under 10 dollars and they are not stingy with portions. Founders Chloe Coscarelli and Samantha Wasser made their mission in this restaurant to make vegan food accessible and Instagram friendly. There's no doubt that By Chloe accomplishes both of these goals.

2. Jacks Wife Freda - Soho and West Village

Must-Try Brunch Spot

If you haven't seen a glorious photo of this restaurant yet - you're welcome. You must check out this lively, cute spot - especially for brunch. Their menu consists of trendy, middle eastern style dishes which vary from light (grapefruit or yogurt) to heavy and filling (eggs and steak).  If you're going to do it, do it right and prepare to be a little adventurous. Consider trying the green shakshuka.

3. Sweetgreen - Multiple locations

For healthy food on the go

If you're all about a healthy bowl of the freshest and best ingredients, Sweetgreen is the spot for you. Sweetgreen's menu features "simple, seasonal, healthy food" such as amazing salads and grain bowls. Whether you're choosing a signature bowl or creating your own, you will be impressed by the final product. Word on the street is that you'll fall in love with the kale caesar salad bowl.

4. Nourish Kitchen + Table - West Village

The Classiest of Takeout Food

This cozy, chic spot in West Village offers local, seasonal, freshly prepared food and delicious coffee to takeaway or to stay (warning: it's a small space). This restaurant screams "homemade and healthy." Their menu changes daily, but you can always expect to find several grain and greens- based salads, proteins, and a dessert.  Though you may find that your meal is on the expensive side, you won't regret your decision to splurge.

5. Little Beet Table - Flatiron District

Quality ingredients, 100% Gluten-free

Founder Franklin Becker was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes at the age of 27 and this forced him to transform his cooking style. Becker hopes to turn healthy eating into a way of life and the Little Beet Table offers a way to do so. This 100% gluten-free and vegetarian-friendly restaurant was founded with one simple philosophy: "to serve real food deliciously" - and that they do.
