4 Acai Recipes You Need to Try

Acai berries contain antioxidants, fiber, and heart-healthy fats. They've been dubbed as a superfood for their anti-aging and weight loss properties. You can't go wrong with a traditional acai bowl packed with fruit and granola, however, there are other healthy, delicious recipes that contain acai. Here are some of our favorites:

 


Matcha, Raspberry & Acai Macaroons

These gluten-free macaroons are a show stopper. This non-traditional recipe uses raw ingredients and gives you the opportunity to add your own creative flair. Don't be dispirited from the cooking time because you will find that making these is a lot of fun.

Ingredients

Macaroons

1 cup unsweetened shredded coconut

2/3 gluten-free rolled oats

1/4 cup date paste (recipe Below)

2 TBSP CoCONUT OIL, Melted

1 TBSP Vanilla extract

Flavor Add-ins (Choose Two):

1/4 tbsp matcha powder

1/3 cup raspberry puree (or any fruit)

1 TBSP Organic burst acai powder

1 TBSP Carob Powder/Cacao powder

Date Paste

12 large dates

1 cup water

1 TSP vanilla

Instructions

  1. Prepare date paste or use another liquid sweetener such as maple syrup, coconut nectar, etc. Blend all ingredients for date paste in a high speed blender or food processor. Store paste in an air-tight container in the refrigerator.

  2. Blend oats in a high-speed blender or food processor.

  3. Add shredded coconut, date paste, coconut oil and vanilla and blend.

  4. Scoop out half of the mixture into a bowl.

  5. Choose a flavor add-in to add to the remaining mixture in your blender (i.e. add ¼ tbsp matcha powder to make matcha macaroons).

  6. Using a tablespoon scoop out dough onto dehydrator tray.

  7. Place remaining mixture from bowl back in your blender and choose another flavor add-in (i.e. add ⅓ raspberry purée for raspberry macaroons).

  8. Using a tablespoon scoop out dough onto dehydrator tray.

  9. Dehydrate at 115 F for about 8 hours.

Skinny Raspberry Acai Mint Spritzer

This drink is sure to impress. Whether its virgin or boozy, this refreshing drink is a great choice for your next girls night in.  Quickly prepare this drink with Trop50 Raspberry Acai, club soda, fresh mint, ice, and rum (or not). Don't forget the lemon for garnish, of course!

Ingredients

3 C Trop50 Raspberry Acai

1 C club soda

½ C fresh mint leaves, torn

Ice

3-4 oz rum (optional)

Sliced lemon for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large pitcher, combine the club soda, juice and mint. Mix well.

  2. Add ice cubes to 4 10oz glasses.

  3. If opting for rum, add about 1oz of rum to each glass, or your desired amount. Add the juice mixture. Mix well.

  4. If not opting for rum, add the juice mixture to the glasses.

  5. Garnish each glass with a slice of lemon.

Chocolate Berry Superfood Bars

Not only are these superfood bars full of protein, but they are full of all natural ingredients. They contain superfoods such as maca root, acai berry, and chia seeds. Consider making these bars in exchange of artificial protein bars for a multitude of great health benefits.

Ingredients

Base

1 Cup almonds

1 cup cashews

1/2 cup desiccated coconut

2 tbsp maca

2 tbsp cacao

1 cup dates

2 tbsp peanut butter 

1-3 tbsp almond milk

Top

2 cups frozen raspberries 

2 tbsp acai powder

1-2 tbsp rice malt syrup

2 tbsp melted coconut oil

3/4 cup desiccated coconut 

1/4 cup chia seed 

1 tbsp peanut butter 

1/2 cup cashews 

1 tsp vanilla

Instructions

  1. Line a baking tin with non stick paper

  2. Place all base ingredients apart from almond milk into the food processor and blend until fine and crumbly

  3. If the mix is too dry and doesn’t stick when pushed down add small amounts of almond milk and mix until sticky

  4. Push base down into tin firmly and place in freezer while you prepare top layer

  5. Place all topping ingredients into food processor and blend until smooth – will still be quite thick because of the frozen berries

  6. Pour onto the base and smooth down with a spatula

  7. Put any toppings on and push down into the mix

  8. Place in freezer to set for half an hour

  9. Slice into desired sizes!

1 Pillsbury Dark Chocolate Brownie Mix

3 Sambazon Acai Smoothie Packs

Instructions

Mix together the brownie mix and smoothie packs in a medium bowl. Spray an 8x8 pan with cooking spray and put brownie mixture in. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes. Cut into squares and enjoy!
