A Guide to the Top Victoria's Secret Angels on Twitter & Peek at Their Fashion Show Prep

On Wednesday I'll be heading backstage to cover the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show and then of course, attending the show.  To prep, I began researching (aka stalking) the angels on Twitter to see what they've been up to lately.  Fitness, fittings and beauty treatments seem to taking up their feeds, but on Wednesday I'll get the real dirt.  Follow me on Twitter for constant updates!  Here's a guide to the top angels twitter handles and a peek at their fashion show prep.

Fit Tip: Target Your Obliques for Killer Abs

I love going to the gym, but sometimes get stuck in a rut doing the same routine over and over so I'm constantly looking for new exercises to do to keep my workout interesting. Working my abs is my favorite part (I hate cardio) so I thought I'd share this fit tip with you. Your abs are made up of four main muscle groups and in order to have a completely toned stomach, you need to target them all.  Celebrity trainer to Anne Hathaway and Heidi KlumDavid Kirsch gave me the scoop on how to get killer abs. Start off by doing a set of basic crunches to get your core warmed up, then begin focusing on your obliques.  ”Lay on your right side with knees bent, right arm on the floor in front of you, left hand behind your head,”  Kirsch explains. ”Crunch, lifting your knees straight up and bringing your left shoulder toward them; pause, lower and repeat.”

Make sure you’re engaging your lower abs and breathing in through your nose as your legs go down and out through your mouth as they come up.  Try doing three sets of 12 crunches on each side three times a week.  It's worth it!

Fit Tip: Exercise Like Angels for A Bombshell Bod

Truth: even angels need to work out to stay fit. In a recent interview I did with Adriana Lima she dished that the secret to her hot bod was jumping rope with her trainer.  Heidi Klum and Miranda Kerr seem to have a few tricks up their sleeves as well. Studies have proven that people who work out with a friend are more successful at working out more consistently.  The same goes for relationships.  Couples who work out together and share the same health goals last longer. Whether your motivation comes from a personal trainer or a friend, a companion helps you stay on track.

Who do you work out with?

Oblique Workout for Toned Abs

Since I came back from all of my travels I've been hitting the gym again hard core and am focusing on total body conditioning as bikini season is right around the corner.  Short term goals – trips to Punta Cana and St. Thomas!  But in general, I'm a fitness junkie and love having a tightly toned bod so I thought I'd let you in on some tips.  Looking at abs engulfed by love handles?  Don't worry, you still have time! The abdominals are made up of four main muscle groups and in order to have a completely toned stomach, it should come as no surprise that you need to target them all.  Celebrity trainer to Anne Hathaway and Heidi Klum, David Kirsch credits oblique crunches to helping Heidi Klum get back on the runway immediately after giving birth.

Start off by… doing a set of basic crunches to get your core warmed up, then begin focusing on your obliques.

Latest Obsession: Heidi Klum for New Balance

Since Heidi Klum is no longer a Victoria's Secret angel, she was able to spread (or should I say shed) her wings and one direction she chose was to work with New Balance in creating an active wear line.  About two weeks ago I was invited to the press preview to check it out and fell in love with some of the pieces.  So who's it for?  The chic yogi. The line consists of a variety of sweat pants, oversized hoodies, T's and ponchos and is super soft, allows for movement and wearable in public (not just in class).  I love going to classes outside my gym like Physique 57 and yoga and these outfits would be perfect because I can walk around the city in them, take the subway and arrive at class with out looking like I'm in gym clothes.  Those classes are the right types of classes for the gear though.  Don't think about taking this line of active wear on the treadmill or to spin class.  Because it's not high-performance, it's definitely made just for certain classes.

Not a fan of classes or working out?  No problem.  How about those days you just want to relax and run a few errands?  We all have them!  My favorites are the Oversized Short Sleeve Hooded Poncho (pictured) and Side Snap Genie Sweat Pant (not to be worn together).  You can shop all of the goods exclusively at Amazon.com.
