Get Involved! Amazon Launches Beauty Site, MyHabit.com

Last night I attended a launch event at the Bryant Park Hotel for MyHabit.com, a beauty destination owned by Amazon that hosts curated daily sales of up to 50% off coveted beauty loot.  I got a sneak peek at the site and am excited to announce that I'll be working with them by curating a sale for one of my fave natural beauty brands (you'll see who in the next coming weeks), but you can start shopping the site today. Since I've been shopping on Amazon for years, becoming a member was simple.  As soon as I logged in, Myhabit recognized me and had all of my info.  If you're not a member of Amazon, you can create an account for free.  Like other shopping websites I'm addicted to, sales begin at 12pm EST, and logging in right away is worth it.  New skin care, cosmetics and hair care brands will be featured at redicilous deals so you want to get them while they're hot.  Plus, shipping is free.

Ladies, today is the day to finally buy that StriVectin that costs a pretty penny! Bye-bye stretch marks!  Other launch partners include Anthony Logistics, Oscar Blandi (score the dry shampoo) and Babo Botanicals.  Also, they're having a contest on their Facebook page where you can enter to win a $250 Amazon gift card.  Shop away ladies!

Latest Obsession: Heidi Klum for New Balance

Since Heidi Klum is no longer a Victoria's Secret angel, she was able to spread (or should I say shed) her wings and one direction she chose was to work with New Balance in creating an active wear line.  About two weeks ago I was invited to the press preview to check it out and fell in love with some of the pieces.  So who's it for?  The chic yogi. The line consists of a variety of sweat pants, oversized hoodies, T's and ponchos and is super soft, allows for movement and wearable in public (not just in class).  I love going to classes outside my gym like Physique 57 and yoga and these outfits would be perfect because I can walk around the city in them, take the subway and arrive at class with out looking like I'm in gym clothes.  Those classes are the right types of classes for the gear though.  Don't think about taking this line of active wear on the treadmill or to spin class.  Because it's not high-performance, it's definitely made just for certain classes.

Not a fan of classes or working out?  No problem.  How about those days you just want to relax and run a few errands?  We all have them!  My favorites are the Oversized Short Sleeve Hooded Poncho (pictured) and Side Snap Genie Sweat Pant (not to be worn together).  You can shop all of the goods exclusively at Amazon.com.

Is A Triathlon in Your Future?

I'm super eager to explore various new fitness activities.  As I mentioned in a former blog post, I even began running outside!  (Yes, taking it outside the gym is a big move for me!)  Checking out the hottest new workout classes in NYC and constantly challenging myself to get in better shape is a huge passion of mine, but I could never imagine doing a triathlon. Running, maybe I can get through, biking, I could train for that, but jumping into a lake or and swimming... no thank you.  It's not that I'm not a good swimmer, I am, but I hate to think about what else is swimming around underneath me!  I get freaked out.  I give people who train for triathlons so much credit and really wish I was brave enough.

A new book recently caught my attention written by Gloria Safar, a triathlete herself and motivational coach, called Triathlon for Girls Like Us.  It discussed how to properly train for the big day, proper nutrition for training, how to avoid injury and has a training log so you can track your personal goals.  It's very motivational and has everything included to help women adapt to training for their first triathlon.  If you have enough courage, I suggest you check it out on Amazon.
