Esquire Names Rihanna the Sexiest Women Alive

Last year it was Minka Kelly (and I agreed) and this year Rihanna is topping Esquire's list as the sexiest woman alive and I agree – again.  The songstress is on fire.  Besides her exotic beauty, she's confident, electric and full of positive energy.  I swear the whole world is attracted to her for one reason or another.  She embodies sexy.  Disagree? Check out this video and I bet you'll change your mind:

A New Wave in Hair Accessories: Crystal, Tinsel and Feathers

The words "hair accessory" are taking on a whole new meaning.  Inspired by some of our favorite rockstars creative hair 'do's , Rihanna, Lady Gaga and Katy Perry, we can now experiment with our locks in brand new ways.  Great Lengths recently introduced Swarovski Crystal Extensions and feather and tinsel hair extensions are also all the rage. "Women are seeing celebrities experiment with their hair and think it's beautiful and attainable," commented Jan Marie Marteca of the Ted Gibson Salon.  "They're going to start to embrace everything from pastel pink highlighted extensions to pops of tinsel."

The Swarovski crystal extensions last as long as regular Great Length extensions (about three to four months) and are bonded to your hair.  I first saw the feather hair extension while at the Sundance Film festival and think it looks best when the feather is the same tone as your hair.  For instance, if you have brown hair, go with a brown feather so it blends nicely and acts as an accent and doesn't look cheesy.

Beyonce sported gold tinsel at the Grammys this year and Jan spotted tinsel extensions at this year's Hair Show. They're finely knotted around a few strands of your hair and last a few weeks.  The accent may look cute for a special occasion (Grammys anyone?).

Create A Mood Boosting Playlist to Enhance Your Workout

There are certain songs that completely enhance my mood and make me want to hit the gym.  I love to run to house music and lift to hip hop.  No matter what, I need to have something constantly on that makes me want to dance.  Studies prove that the rhythmic speed of your tunes influence your athletic performance. Fast-paced music is great for cardio (it makes sense that I like to run to house music). The best pump-it-up music should be between 120-140 beats per minute.  If you really want to check to see if you’re maximizing your playlist for your workout routine, simply count the beats in the song or you can use a Windows BPM calculator.

Choose your favorite, most high-energy song to start and finish your cardio routine. This will help you get going and entice you to finish.  Just when you think you can’t go anymore, the song will come on reinforcing you to fight to the end.

Here are some of my personal favorite, up-beat songs that get me to the finish line:

Dynamite by Taio Curz

I'm In Love by Alex Gaudino

S & M by Rihanna

Stereo Love by Edward Maya & Vika Jigulina

Gettin' Over You by David Guetta

Over by Drake

Sexy Spring Style: Side Swept Braid

As seen on the Spring/Summer 2010 runways and on some of the hottest celebs, the side swept braid is a simple, yet chic style to sport this spring.  Celeb stylist, Amoy Pitters (who's styled A-lister's like Rihanna), created this look for the runways and gave me the scoop on how to replicate at home.

To create texture apply a volumizing mousse from your roots to the ends.  Blow dry your hair, then use a 1-2" curling iron and create loose waves throughout the crown.  Next, using a comb, sweep the hair to one side and create a braid.  Allow fly-aways for a soft, bohemian-chic look.  Finish with a light holding spray.

This look is perfect for a summer bar-b-que, happy hour or even a date.
