Top Ways to Boost Your Smile, In Case Your OCD Like Me

Ever since I straightened my teeth with Invisalign I've been completely OCD about my smile. It's to the point where I'm looking at every celebrities smile and comparing mine to it. Apparently some of them (like Jessica Biel) even move their gums so their teeth are the "ideal" height and width.  According to an Invisalign study, almost three in four (73%) Americans would be more likely to trust someone with a nice smile.  A nice smile, not a perfect smile.  So here are ways I've been boosting mine and satisfying my obsession. I started using fancy toothpaste.   Theodent Classic Whitening Crystal Mint to be exact, with a combination of Crest 3D White products.  My newly aligned teeth deserve to be pampered with pretty toothpaste.  That's how crazy I am now, but I will say that it's an all natural whitener that makes my mouth feel clean and my teeth sparkle.  I've also been obsessed with Crest 2D White Multi-Care Whitening Rinse and probably overuse their 2 Hour Express Whitestrips, which I don't recommend you do at home.

Another thing I've been doing is wearing lip color!  I want to draw all of the attention to my mouth now.  I used to always play up my eyes, but now I finally feel confident enough to make accentuating my smile an option too.  Tip: Use a blue based red lipstick to make your teeth look whiter.

Instant Holiday Party Prep Fixes

So far this month I've been feeling like I don't have a second to breathe, but it's not a bad thing as my schedule is full of holiday parties and I'm sure yours is too.  With that being said, I've been changing up my look for each one depending on the scene, but some of my prep has stayed consistent and because of my personality and lack of time, it all revolves around instant gratification.  I want results and I want them now!  Check out my favorite quick fixes.Daily, I use the Crest 3D White toothpaste and mouthwash to keep up my pearly whites, but I just did the 2 Hour Express White Strips again.  In all honesty, the two hour commitment is perfect for my schedule because I do it in one shot and not have to worry about dedicating a ton of time to something that I obviously don't have. Having an appropriate tan this time of year is respected.  I'm not talking really tan, but a nice luminous glow compliments every outfit.  I've been taking mine up a notch by using Model Co.'s One Night Tan on certain nights.  After I shower I rub the mousse in all over my body (except my face) and within seconds it dries and gives me a natural bronze.  I like the look because it makes my arms and legs look more toned, plus I don't sweat it off the next morning in the gym because it all comes off with my next shower.  There's nothing worse than wiping your face with a white towel and having it turn brown thanks to self tanner.  Talk about embarrassing!

When it comes to my face I rely on Dr. Dennis Gross' Alpha Beta Glow Pads.  One word: Amazing.  I use them in the morning about once a week or the day I have a big party or event after I cleanse and before I put moisturizer on.  My dull, winter skin turns radiant within an hour or so and as a bonus, it also has anti-aging ingredients in it like Vitamin D.  Warning – the more times you swipe the pad across your face, the darker the glow.  I normally swipe it two to three times.  Don't swipe over your eyebrows and avoid your hairline.

Rock A Confidence Boosting Smile

A few weeks ago I participated in a project with Crest focusing on how a great smile can kick up anyone's confidence.  Wouldn't you agree?  One of the first things I notice about someone is their smile.  Are their teeth white?  Straight-ish?  Horse teeth perhaps? I was recently at my dentist who was super impressed with how white my teeth were and not at all surprised when I told him I used using the strips. When I first heard about the Crest 3D White 2 Hour Express Whitestrips I was thrilled and couldn't wait to try them to begin my Spring renewal.  They claim to give you whiter teeth in just one, two hour treatment.  Normally, I use Crest 3D White Strips nightly to whiten my teeth and keep them white. I finally found a day where I sat in and blogged and was able to use the strips for two hours.  Like the other white strips I use regularly, they stayed put on my teeth and I was able to drink water while wearing them.  Once the two hours was up, I was very pleased with the results.  Two hours may seem like a long time, but for noticeably whiter teeth, it's beyond worth it.

Katie Cassidy Confesses Guiltiest Pleasure to BeautySweetSpot

This week I attended an intimate holiday dinner with Crest at the Cooper Square Hotel penthouse.  Surrounded by views of NYC we all sat and ate a fab meal and got the chance to chat with Gossip Girl star, Katie Cassidy. When she sat next to me at the table I had to take advantage of the opportunity and shoot away.  First of all, I knew who she was from her role in A Nightmare on Elm Street and then Melrose Place.  But even more than that, because my mom used to be obsessed with her father, old-school heart throb, David Cassidy.

"I grew up in The Hills living a very normal life because my parents weren't together and I lived with my mom," Katie said.  "But when people told me how hot my dad was it was really weird."

As she's telling me this my mother is texting me while I'm at the table telling me how in love she was with David and that she used to see him perform several times a year and write him love letters.  I wasn't about to tell Katie.

Katie was a very sweet, down-to-earth girl who seemed to really enjoy herself at the event. I was dying over her lashes and even though she claimed they were real and credited YSL mascara, I knew she wasn't telling the whole truth!  I'm sure YSL mascara had something to do with them, but I'm sure lash extensions should have deserved 90% of the credit.

When I asked what her guiltiest pleasure was she laughed and said listening to Fergie's "Working On My Fitness" while working out.  I can't argue with her there!

As fall takes over my wardrobe, paleness has clearly set into my complexion.  Besides the obvious of using self tanner and bronzer to keep a bit of a glow, I discovered through experimentation another trick to keeping myself from looking as dull as the sky – keeping my pearly whites as bright as can be.
