Create Your Own Lip Color Cocktail, How I Blended with Burt's Bees

There's something about blending your own lip color that makes applying lipstick special.  I have to admit, I almost always layer on different colors and textures to find the right blend. The only signature color I have is my red.  Like blending your own fragrance, sometimes it's nice to create something that works perfectly for your mood and personality... and in this case, appearance.  I partnered with Burt's Bees and Celebrity Makeup Artist, Katey Denno to find my own natural custom blended color for their Nature Knows Color Campaign.  Check out my personal video after the jump!

It was a fun morning on New York Live! I love going on this show because it's lifestyle oriented and the hosts, Sara and Jaque are so much fun to work with because they're genuinely interested in what's happening in beauty. Today I spoke about some of 2013's hottest beauty ingredients to look out for and why they work. The product examples I gave for each are some of my personal favorites.

5 Celebrity Inspired Winter Beauty Trends, with Wendy Williams!

This was by far one of the most exciting segments I've done.  Picture this – It's 3pm on Friday afternoon right after Sandy.  I'm checking into a hotel room across the city to indulge in a shower and some heat and I received a call from a producer from the Wendy Williams Show. An hour before I went live the segment was finalized.  That's how it works (sometimes) in live TV.  I love my job.  As soon as I get a clip I'll post it, but here's a link to the information for now and a list of the products used after the jump.  Guys, I had my own green room!

 

Spotting Fall Street Style on Better TV

During my latest Better TV segment I got to chat with Audra Lowe about street style and beauty trends.  While I'm not a street style photographer or blogger, I love street style.  It's about celebrating who you are and your own style, which goes beyond fashion.  I have to call out my BFF, Michele, who modeled for me in this segment wearing black and white prints. Forbes Recognizes BeautySweetSpot in A 5 Page Profile on Yours Truly!

Three years ago when I decided to go freelance I made a vision board.  Today, there was a five page profile on me and my business in Forbes.  Yes, Forbes!  I'm dying.  The Forbes headline was at the top of my vision board.  Mission accomplished.  It's not all lipstick and manicures ladies... blogging is a business and I'm building an empire one post at a time.

I'm often asked – what I studied in college, how I built my brand, how I get paid, how I get on TV and what my goals are.  Well, I'm beyond honored that my whole story has been captured and now lives online in one of the most respected business publications.

I had so much fun with Audra Lowe and JD on Better TV DIYing some summer hair solutions.  If your color's fading, hair's feeling dry and fried or completely frizzy check out the video.  I have to say, I was prepping for this with my intern, Emily and we had a blast DIYing in my kitchen.  If you have a night off, I highly recommend doing some of these things with your BFF.  

AOL Spread "Ban the Tan" Too, On Their Home Page!

I just got a call from my father saying my tanning story was on the homepage of AOL today, (he still has an AOL email address).  This is crazy.  It's really is an International news story. I'm so so honored that all of these outlets are spreading the story, because it's resonating with so many people. I'm getting emails from former melanoma survivors, people who used to be just like me, mothers who plan on showing the segments to their daughters who are still tanning and others who are inspired. I'm so thankful that this story is affecting people in a positive way and helps spread a safe sun message.
