The Life of a Top Model During NYFW

Ever wonder what it's like to be a model during fashion week? Running around for the past five years, season after season, chasing the hottest trends and how-to's I never stopped to think about what it's like for the models who act like blank canvases show after show.  Backstage at Mackage I got the scoop from two very top models, Lyndsey Scott and Hanna Rundolf. Wait until you hear this!

I asked them how many shows they were doing this season and was shocked to find out they had no idea. "This is the first show of the season and all we have booked so far," Scott commented, "we literally find out the day before or the day of shows if we're booked."

I assumed they had organized schedules all printed out from their managers and they were just as prepared as I was for the hectic week that lied ahead of them.  Instead, their agents send them to casting calls where they meet with the brand's casting director or designer.  Then, if called back they go for a fitting to check their measurements with the clothing.  But after the two rounds of auditions, the final cast isn't finalized until last minute.  Talk about a stressful situation!  Could you imagine finding out you're about to walk a runway in Marc Jacobs for Marc Jacobs a few hours before his show?
