Valentine's Day Advice from Victoria's Secret Angels

Have you started thinking about Valentine's Day yet?  It's Friday!  Don't stress, I caught up with two of the sexiest women on Earth, Victoria's Secret AngelsCandice Swanepoel and Karlie Kloss, during their Bombshell Day celebration.  They're advice?  Keep Valentine's Day simple.  Here are their recommendations for date night along with must-haves for making it a complete success.

Candice suggests spicing it up!

“I’ve been in a relationship now for a really long time, it’s [Valentine’s Day] a great excuse to do something different… naughty or spontaneous!”

The way to her heart:

“I love having flowers in my house at all times, the best gift I could receive is loads of flowers!”

Karlie suggests keeping it low key.

“I like a nice night at home with my loved one and a nice home cooked meal. I love a fire, especially this time of year with all the snow, and spending a night in.”

The way to her heart:

“I have a sweet tooth and I love dark chocolate. There’s a local New York store called Mast Brothers Chocolate, and they make a really good dark chocolate with sea salt and caramel that is heaven.”

Flowers and chocolate are sweet and traditional and I respect how they keep it simple and low key.  The cherry on top, of course is lingerie!  Surprise your man with Victoria’s Secret's new collection for Bombshell Day. It's categorized into: Sexy, Flirty, or Romantic.  Don't be shy! Victoria's Secret is also launching their newest fragrance, Forbidden, which includes notes of exotic pear, jasmine, blackberry and amber wood.

exclusive: Behati Prinsloo Talks Her New Victoria's Secret Fragrance Deal & Engagement to Adam Levine

Last week I had the opportunity to privately interview Adam Levine's new fiance and Victoria's Secret Angel, Behati Prinsloo at the Victoria's Secret fragrance launch event celebrating their latest, 'Victoria,' held at 620 Loft & Garden overlooking NYC's 5th Ave. While I was anxious to get my hands on the latest scent and meet the fresh faced Spokesmodel, I really couldn't wait to see her new rock (which was vintage and gorge) and get to know the future Mrs. Levine. While the Victoria's Secret brand had prepared a speech for her to give to all of us about the fragrance and partnership, she was completely overwhelmed with emotion and truly spoke from the heart.  A real humbled girl, I liked her right away.  Here's my exclusive interview:

What did you just do to your feet (she did something before she slipped her shoes on)?

Because it's so hot outside, I put powder in my shoes so my feet don't slide around.  It's a trick from the trade.

Why did you get so emotional when you spoke about your collaboration with this fragrance?

This fragrance is me, but the emotions are more about Victoria's Secret coming to me and asking me to do the collaboration.  They said I was the perfect person for it. The fragrance was fresh and young and still beautiful and feminine and they thought I was the perfect person for it.  I just got so touched by it.  It smells beautiful and I love roses.  It's such an honor to have a fragrance created off of who I am.

This is a huge career highlight for you! What do you hope to do in the future?

I never thought about modeling.  Then I got scouted and everything happened from there. I never in a million years would have thought I'd be sitting here as the face of Victoria's Secret's biggest fragrance.  I wouldn't want to know what happens next.  I like surprises and the feeling of being overwhelmed.

Congratulations on your recent engagement! What was the best advice you've ever received on love or marriage?

It's not advice per say, but my parents have been married for 35 years and I've watched them and always wanted what they've had.

What advice do you have for people who are looking for love?

Be yourself and be honest.  Honesty and communication are the most important things.

Is there a product that you steal from Adam or he steals from you?

Not so much, but we both are obsessed with rosewater spray, which is funny!

Oribe Talks Working with Kate Upton for Italian Vogue & Dishes How to Get Those Waves

As soon as I laid eyes on Kate Upton's Vogue cover I had to know how to achieve the seductive, yet sophisticated look of old hollywood glamour.  It's captivating.  Of course, it's also Kate Upton, but I needed to get the dirt.  Hairstylist to the stars, Oribe was on set at the Marilyn Monroe suite at the Waldorf-Astoria for the shoot with makeup artist, Pat McGrath. The glamorous tone was set and the two worked their talents.  I spoke with Oribe to find out more about working with this new Vogue cover girl and exactly how to achieve those sexy waves. What's the first thing that comes to your mind when you think Vogue cover girl?

What’s great about Italian Vogue is that they use models instead of the same celebrities over and over. It’s very special for a young model like Kate to be chosen, and it’s also really special for the hairdresser working on the shoot.

Have you ever worked with Kate Upton before?  What was she like to work with?

I’ve worked with her several times and love her.  She’s great on set – a lot of fun and a little quirky.  She reminds me of the Jayne Mansfield of this era.

What was your inspiration?

The shoot was very Helmut Newton-inspired.

What's your secret to getting her hair so full and wavy?

I used a 1-inch curling iron and my Soft Lacquer Heat Styling Spray for the curls.  The spray is an amazing styling product that helped me to create a curl that had hold, even when brushed out.  Steven Meisel, the photographer, wanted her hair to look very full, I used my Dry Texturizing Spray to create the necessary volume.

Who did you collaborate with to come up with her glamorous, old Hollywood look?

Steven Meisel had the concept in mind – it was very Helmut Newton inspired. I worked closely with him, Pat McGrath, the makeup artist, and Carlyne Cerf de Dudzeele, the fashion stylist, on the finished look.

1st Time Victoria's Secret Model Dishes on Her Audition Process & Fitness Secret

One of my goals going backstage at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show this year was to talk to a newbie.  When I met Jasmine Tookes, I knew she was the one I wanted to get to know as she was someone I've never seen before, a fresh face to the industry and eager to talk.  Turns out, we have something in common: our work out regimen, only she's proof that it works and I quit!  Check out my video interview with the newest Angel.

Victoria's Secret Model, Lily Aldridge Dishes Her Workout Secret

In the middle of getting her eye makeup done backstage at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, Lily Aldridge took a minute out to tell me about her new baby girl, Dixie Pearl, who she had just four months before.  The whole time as she was saying the words "joy" and "wonderful" to describe motherhood, I somehow tuned out everything she had to say about being a mom and couldn't help but stare at her long, lean toned crossed legs as she sat there in her pink robe.  Seriously?  Being one who works my *ss off to stay toned without kids I had to know what she was doing. Her secret?  Ballet Beautiful classes in NYC along with pilates.  I've never tried Ballet Beautiful before, but you bet your *ass I'm going to now.  I thought I did it all, from Physique 57 to Soul Cycle.  Out of all of the crazy workouts NYC has to offer, it's ballet that creates the lean, toned body.

The classes offer targeted exercises to sculpt, stretch and tone the body.  If you're not located in NYC, they also offer online classes and DVDs, so there's no excuse not to get in on the action.  Thanks for the info, Lily.

Victoria's Secret Model, Doutzen Kroes, Gets Personal

During fashion week when I was filming episodes for BeautySweetSpot TV, I brought my camera crew up to the Victoria's Secret Fashion Week Retreat, a press lounge at the top of the Empire Hotel, to capture what a NYFW time out looks like.  To my surprise, Doutzen Kroes was there so I snagged an interview with her.  We spoke about the details of her October Elle cover shoot, fitness secrets and the upcoming Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. Take a look...

The Life of a Top Model During NYFW

Ever wonder what it's like to be a model during fashion week? Running around for the past five years, season after season, chasing the hottest trends and how-to's I never stopped to think about what it's like for the models who act like blank canvases show after show.  Backstage at Mackage I got the scoop from two very top models, Lyndsey Scott and Hanna Rundolf. Wait until you hear this!

I asked them how many shows they were doing this season and was shocked to find out they had no idea. "This is the first show of the season and all we have booked so far," Scott commented, "we literally find out the day before or the day of shows if we're booked."

I assumed they had organized schedules all printed out from their managers and they were just as prepared as I was for the hectic week that lied ahead of them.  Instead, their agents send them to casting calls where they meet with the brand's casting director or designer.  Then, if called back they go for a fitting to check their measurements with the clothing.  But after the two rounds of auditions, the final cast isn't finalized until last minute.  Talk about a stressful situation!  Could you imagine finding out you're about to walk a runway in Marc Jacobs for Marc Jacobs a few hours before his show?

Jesus Luz's Risque Photo Shoot

Ladies, please, do yourself a favor and look at the photos of Jesus Luz.  Never in my life have I ever seen something more beautiful, but I'm going to bring up a question: Is Mr. Luz showing a little too much?

Photographed for Interview magazine Madonna's boy toy almost let it all hang out.  His pubic hair?  Really?  The 23 year-old Brazilian refused to speak about his relationship with Madonna during the interview, but was shameless when it came to showing off his hot bod.

What do you think?  Post a comment below and let me know if you think he showed too much or not enough!
