Hey BeautySweetSpot readers! I am beyond excited today because I was interviewed by Access Hollywood about the coral trend and the article is live! I gave suggestions on how to wear the trends and great beauty and fashion pics at affordable prices. Check it out! LOS ANGELES, Calif. --
One of the big colors I am seeing this Spring is coral… it seems like everywhere I turn, there it is!
As much as I love the color, I never thought I could wear it. But there are plenty of ways to get in on this fresh and fun color trend according to beauty expert and blogger Jeannine Morris.
“I like it because it’s very wearable and people can embrace it as much or as little as they want by adding a slight pop of color to their nails or rocking a bright orange trench,” Jeannine says. “It depends on how much they want to be noticed.”
Jessica Biel, Gwyneth Paltrow, Zoe Saldana, Diane Kruger and January Jones are just a few stars who have already been embracing the trend and Jeannine shares some tips of how you can too.
CORAL MAKEUP Whether you believe it or not, coral lips work on everyone – yes, on all skin tones. It’s all about finding the right texture and pigment that works for you. If you have a lighter skin tone, opt for more of a pinky based orange and if you have a darker skin tone go with a deeper reddish orange. As for texture, if you’re a gloss girl, use a pigmented gloss so you’re comfortable pulling off the look. Try LipFusion Micro-Injected Collagen Lip Plump in Boca Babe or jane iredale Lip Fixation in Devotion. If you’re looking for a creamier consistency wear a lipstick like Bobbi Brown Rich Lip Color SPF 12 in Soft Coral. To finish the look, try philosophy’s The Supernatural Lit from Within Cream Blush in Feel Warm All Over and concentrate the color on the apples of your cheeks.
CORAL NAILS This is perhaps the easiest way to pull off the trend because you can rock it on your hands or your feet. Two of my favorite coral polishes right now are Creative Nail Design in Smoochie and Sula Paint & Peel Polish in Champagne Coral.
CORAL CLOTHING Miranda Kerr, Whitney Port and Rachel Bilson were all recently spotted wearing coral blazers. This looks best as a day look and can easily be paired with jeans, a white tee and nude pumps. H&M has a super chic and affordable one.
CORAL ACCESSORIES Spice up your outfit with a coral bag, jewelry or even stockings. I’m huge on accessories and feel they add so much personality to my outfits. Blake Lively wore coral stockings on the set of “Gossip Girl” with a black dress and I loved the look! You can get the same look with DKNY 412 Opaque Coverage Control Top Tights in Rouge. Too outrageous for you? Check out Silhouette’s SPX Art Eyeglasses for a subtler look.
