In the beginning of the year I went to my dentist for a regular cleaning, and as usual, everything was fine. No cavities, but I did get yelled at once again for never flossing. Therefore, I promised myself that this year, I would pay more attention to my teeth. Just this week I paid a visit to Dr. Barbara Wachs at BriteSmile on Madison Ave. in NYC.
First, she measured the whiteness of my teeth and told me they were already very white, but if they weren't they could get up to six shades lighter with the treatment. I spent an hour there undergoing three 20 minute whitening treatments. Dr. Wachs explained that my teeth may feel sensitivity. By the third treatment, I was ready for it to be over, but it was bearable and so worth it.
I brushed my teeth and looked in the mirror and my teeth were the whitest I've ever seen them. Since I'm addicted to coffee and red wine I asked Dr. Wachs how I can continue to live my lifestyle and keep my teeth as white as they are. She told me it's best to drink your coffee and such quicker than to slowly sip and enjoy it. Bummer, but if it works, I'll do it. I'm also using the BriteSmile Whitening Pen twice a day to keep them white.
Next step, start flossing!
