If I Had A 'Beauty Awards' For Lip Balms, These Are Them

I change my bag at least once a day between a tote, hobo and clutch and am gauranteed to find at least two lip products in each of them as I do the swap.  When it comes to balms, sticks and glosses, I have a billion.  I guess you can say I've been searching for the perfect lip balm without even trying and accidentally found them.  There's two to be fair (seriously, how could I pick one?), an oldie but goodie and brand new gem that always make it into my bag. Fist is MAC Lip Tinted Conditioner SPF 15 in Petting Pink.  I used to use MAC's lip conditioner a long time ago (I'm talking years) and then got distracted by so many other new products that I actually forgot about it.  I don't know how I could have forgotten about a product this good.  While at Sundance last weekend, MAC Makeup Artist, Keri Blair tweeted that this has been her go-to product during Sundance and I was thrilled because she reminded me of it's greatness.  I saw her at lunch the next day and she brought me one!  I love that it's called a conditioner, because it really does condition my lips.  It's a medium weight emollient that adds a bit of sheer, natural color to my lips.

The other is a new lip balm, Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment Advanced Therapy,  which is new this winter and I started using at Sundance as well.  I've always been obsessed with the Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment, but this is different.  It seriously fixes your lips.  My lips have been really dry lately and this is my go-to.  I haven't even been able to wear lipstick because of the chapped lines (I know, ew), so this has been my treatment.  It really hydrates and corrects.  Last week Joe couldn't find his Blistex and I gave this to him and he smeared so much across his lips I was like "Nooooo...!!!!!"  All is well, I just covet it and now he does too!

Aruba Approved: Supergoop AcaiFusion Lip Balm SPF 30

Hello from Aruba!  I'm on vacation with my family and the man in Aruba and of course packed a slew of beauty loot but had to share something that really stood out so far – Supergoop AcaiFusion Lip Balm SPF 30. I always use a lip balm with SPF when I'm laying out as part of my protection plan, but this one is now by far my fave.  It glides on smoothly, gives the appearance of a clear gloss and tastes like a hint of berry, yet offers a significant amount of protection.  I find that most lip balms and glosses with SPF's that I'm sent to review barely have any real SPF in them (the bare minimum you should be using is 15).

You can find it for $8.50 at Barneys.

The Latest Brand to Make Me Blush

Follow my blog with Bloglovin Everyday I receive anywhere from five to ten packages of beauty products from different companies to try and test so I can tell you about the latest and greatest.  Well, this day was no different, but when I was checking out the new Buxom Lip Tarnishes from Bare Escentuals I was literally blushing.

Wearing their new red shade (Busted) on my upper lip and testing the bubble gum pink (Wardrobe Malfunction) on my lower, I was surprised by the seductive verbiage in the marketing materials.  Obviously these are things I would expect from Victoria's Secret Beauty or Flirt! Cosmetics, but not Bare Escentuals.  The other two colors are called Black Mail and Caught on Tape and the concept behind these new moisturizing and plumping lip stains is to "Get everyone talking because there are so many ways to tarnish your reputation, but so little time."  Dirty.  Almost.

After that caught my attention I noticed a cooling effect on my lips that didn't go away after application like I expected and I liked it.  The formula is made with Vitamin E, and indeed very moisturizing, long lasting and intense.  If you're a lip color girl, I'd give these a go.
