Honorable Gig: I’m Presenting at the Oscars aka CEW Beauty Awards

I’m so honored and excited to be a presenter at the CEW Beauty Awards this year! For those of you who are unfamiliar with the event, it’s like the Oscars of the beauty industry.  This Friday, Mario Cantone from Sex and the City will be hosting (again) and I’ll be presenting awards in several categories to some of my favorite brands.  For now, I’m practicing, “And the winner is…”  Stay tuned for details from the event!  I can’t wait to show you what I’m wearing!

My Photo Shoot with Silhouette

Yesterday I had the honor to to act as a model and partake in a photo shoot with Silhouette, a brand dedicated to creating rimless eyewear, for their look book.  I was so excited, but at the same time super nervous, because  as you know, I’m no model!

Even though I do TV segments and feel comfortable in front of that camera, being in front of a camera like this is completely different.  The photographer, Andreas Hofer, was a saint.  He coached me through the 2 1/2 hour shoot and made me feel really confident.  We shot on top of a roof deck downtown that over looked NYC. The biggest challenges – not smiling, the wind and trying to ignore all of the people who were watching!

I wrote a more in depth piece on this that will be posted next week on my column on Glamour.com with tons of behind the scenes pics.  Make sure you check it out!

My WCBS ‘Spring Clean Your Makeup Bag’ Segment

As I was leaving my cardio pump class dripping in sweat this morning I received a call to do a WCBS segment on drugstore beauty products and quickly primped and was ready to roll!  Check it out:

Behind the Scenes of My Elizabeth Arden Shoot… So SJP

This past week has been super fun!  I shot a campaign for Elizabeth Arden that’s going to be on BetterTV, online and in print similar to the Strivectin campaign I shot last fall.  Acting as a Spokesperson and being in front of a camera is my true passion so I was completely in my element.

Thursday we shot in an office setting and in a gorgeous house in New Jersey and Friday we shot at the Elizabeth Arden store on 5th Ave and out and about in NYC.  My Friday scenes were my favorite because they truly portrayed ‘a day in the life.’  Only for this day, I had a stylist and glam squad on hand.

I was the “girl on the go” and we filmed in and out of taxi cabs, subways and walking around the Plaza Hotel by the fountain.  I felt very Sarah Jessica Parker in Sex and the City!  I can’t wait to show you the video when it’s out!

Now, they’re taking a day and a half of footage and creating a three minute piece.  It’s expected to be launched late April/early May.
