I can’t even begin to tell you how many questions I receive daily from women and men (yes, men too) about beauty and grooming. So many that it encouraged me to start a “Dear Jeannine” column. They come in from all angles: Facebook messages, emails, Twitter DM’s and even Linked In. I’m honored and humbled and love answering them! If you have a question, the best way to submit is to go through BeautySweetSpot’s Facebook Fan page. From now on I’ll be answering them all and occasionally publish Q&A’s on the site. Here’s the first one:

When my college roommate, Melanie, would tell me about her microbiology experiments dealing with Botchalism I used to make fun of her as I sat at my desk and wrote trend pieces for my journalism classes. Today, if I could switch jobs with anyone I know it would be her as she’s now the brains behind many of the products that I test and write about daily. I really got to see what she does yesterday when I visited the L’Oreal Research and Innovations Center in Clark, NJ on an editor trip. Exploring the labs where many L’Oreal and L’Oreal owned brands products are developed, I got to play Mel for the day!

There’s one word to describe Scarlett Johansson on the cover on May Vogue: Stunning (yes, with a capital “S”). I chatted with Oribe, her on set hairstylist and friend to find out what it was like to work with one of the sexiest women alive and how to get those even sexier, Hollywood waves he created throughout the two day shoot in at a theater downtown in LA (at the same place “The Artist” was shot). I always try, but somehow end up with separated pieces. This interview will surely put an end to that nonsense!

I’ll admit, like everyone else in the world, I have a bit of a girl crush on Kate Middleton. Who doesn’t want to be a princess? I admire the way she stepped almost seamlessly into the role of royalty, yet is still very relateable. In three days the world will be celebrating the first anniversary of the royal couple so I rounded up some of Kate’s favorite beauty products. Yes, she really uses these things, so I guess you can call them princess approved.

Earlier this month I attended a press dinner to celebrate the launch of John Frieda‘s new products with Celebrity Stylist, Harry Josh at 632 Below in NYC. I was really excited to see Harry Josh, because him and I go way back, as he was one of the first celebrity stylists to blowout my hair six years ago (and it hasn’t looked better since). At the time, he was working a ton with Lindsay Lohan and was going to do her hair immediately after mine in the suite next door at the Hotel Gansevoort. These days, his clients include Ashley Olsen, Jennifer Garner, Gwyneth Paltrow and Amanda Seyfried to name a few. Here are his tips on how to get the perfect blowout.
