Whether you’re a fan of Lea Michele or not, you had to be a fan of her SAG Awards look as I thought she totally recovered from her Globes catastrophe! I was honored to talk to her makeup artists immediately after her prep last night about what she would look like on the red carpet and now I have the scoop on her sexy, smooth hair from her stylist, Mark Townsend for Dove.

Meet Salvador, a stylist from LA who lists happy hour as one of his main hobbies. I think if I lived in LA, we’d be good friends. Check out his site, FashionSalvation.com and read on to find out more about his grooming habits and guiltiest pleasures.
Have I ever told you about “elbow pits?” The phrase was coined by one of my BFF’s from college, Michele, and was often topic of conversation thanks to Dove body wash. The elbow pit is the top flesh area where your elbow bends. Michele and I were roommates one year and both used Dove in the shower and all day long Michele would sniff her elbow pits just to smell that fresh scent. Of course, I started sniffing my elbow pits too.
Last week I had lunch with the PR girls from Dove and told them about elbow pits and they sent me a bunch of their new body washes, the Dove VisibleCare Creme Body Wash to test out on my elbow pits (and the rest of my body). As expected, they smell just as fresh as the Deep Moisture Nourishing Body Wash I used to use, but they’re richer. I felt like I was applying body lotion in the shower and loved every second of it. Lea Michele opted for an ultra-feminine ruffled, one-shoulder Oscar de la Renta pale, pink gown last night at the Golden Globes and her loose chignon complimented the gown perfectly. Stylist to the stars, Mark Townsend was able to take all of the credit.
Lea arrived that morning with freshly washed hair and Townsend by applying Dove Nourishing Oil Care Serum to her wet hair to smooth any frizz and add shine. After raking Dove Curl & Sculpt Defining Mousse through her damp hair he blow dried it in two inch sections with a round brush to create texture and volume. Once dry, he pulled the sides back into a low, messy bun at the nape of her neck and secured it with bobby pins.
As a finishing touch, Townsend carefully pulled some face framing pieces out and spritzed Dove Unscented Extra Hold Hairspray with Natural Movement. ”It gives it hold without looking frozen in time. It’s a soft, “up-ish” do that looks like it could fall down at any moment, but really it’s not going anywhere,” he commented.

Ladies, if you haven’t heard about this yet, pay attention! Just a few weeks ago The Dry Bar launched in NYC, an LA-based salon that offers only blow outs. Swear, you won’t find a pair of scissors or dollop of hair dye in the whole place. Why? Because as I’ve said before (see
