Man of the Week

Meet Ilan, a 25 year-old entrepreneur living in New York City.  Like many Manhattanites, he spent $80 on a single haircut and claims it was cooking sweet heart Rachel Ray who “changed his life.”  Wait until you read about his “down there” preference!

What’s in your medicine cabinet?

My medicine cabinet is pretty boring.  Its mostly the usual stuff. American Crew gel, an assortment of overpriced cologne, deodorant, some leave in conditioner, razors, etc. One really important thing is Gold Bond body powder.  All men should have an ample supply of this heavenly stuff.  If you’re a guy and you’re not using Gold Bond, you’re missing out on some of life’s greatest joy.

What product can’t you live without and why?

I’m really inclined to say my blackberry.  But that’s probably so cliche and not very man-of-the-weekish of me. So if I had to choose another I’d probably have to go with my DVR cable box.  I like good television, but who the hell has the time to schedule their day around new episodes of 24?    DVR or TiVo lets me get my weekly dose of Jack Bauer kicking some serious terrorist ass.  If we’re talking about beauty products, then its probably my hair gel. My jew-fro can get way out of hand if I don’t use gel.

How would you describe your grooming habits?

I take grooming very seriously.  As a man it’s not necessary to be prettier than your girlfriend, but some basic grooming is necessary. One thing I never understood is why guys let the hair grow out on the back of their neck.  It’s such an easy thing to clean up and girls really notice it.  A little grooming goes a long way.

Have you ever gotten a manicure or pedicure? Why or why not?

No mani/pedi for me.  But I did pay $80 for my last haircut at a high end salon. Does that count?  I know its a lot for one haircut, but now I get to go to my barber and say, “Hey Bob, do it like this from now on.”

If you could have one night with any celebrity who would it be and why? More importantly, what would you do?

Again, I probably should say someone like Megan Fox (who I think was mentioned here before like 5 times). But I’m going to break the mold again and say Rachel Ray.  Ever since my mother started watching her cooking show, visiting the ‘rents in Long Island has never been more enjoyable.  That woman has literally changed my life.  Plus, even big girls need some lovin’.

What’s the first thing you notice about a woman?

Her hair.  I don’t know what it is, but there’s something so sexy about a woman with really nice hair.  I guess its because a woman’s hair takes so much work.

Do you prefer a woman au natural or all made up?

All natural of course.  Why would I want to date a woman who has to cake her face to look good?  A little bit of blush or eye liner can go a long way, but if you need to look like bozo the clown in order to leave the house, then you might as well pack it in and get a sex change.

How about down there?

Ahh yes, the eternal question.  If I had to choose one, I’d probably go with completely bare.  But I’m not picky about that kind of thing.  If I’m down there, then I’ve probably got a big smile on my face already.

When it comes to a woman’s beauty what’s your sweet spot?

For me a girls legs and butt are really important physical features.  But I’d have to say my weakest spot is for a girl with a great smile.  If you’ve got a genuinely warm smile and a nice set of pearly whites, its game over.
