Lather the Old Fashioned Way

Do you remember when loofas became popular? I don’t know about you, but I’ve been using body wash at least since high school.  I can’t even remember the last time I scrubbed a wash cloth with a bar of soap.   But I have noticed through snooping around men’s bathrooms (including my own brothers) that 99% of them use bar soap.  What is it with men and the bar?  A popular brand I repeatedly saw was Yardley, so I put it to the test.

My brother likes the English Lavender scent, but I opted to try Lavender Wisteria, the scent is very relaxing and turned my shower into a soothing atmosphere.  It didn’t take long for the wash cloth to create a nice lather. Made with organic shea butter, honey, lavender extracts, rose and oatmeal for exfoliation it left my body feeling refreshed and smelling subtly like lavender.  The experience was pleasant.

I have nothing against bar soaps and think they’re actually more economic.  I know I definitely squeeze more liquid than necessary out of my body wash daily.  It all comes down to personal preference, but I believe that as long as you’re using quality soap that cares for your skin your skin will thank you.

OMG Paul (my bf) uses bar soap and randomly I bought him the Oatmeal scent of Yardley. He just started a new gym membership and he was getting his bags together and he is now (I didn’t get this for him) using Yardley English Lavendar. I’m a liquid soap girl and have been obsessed with the puffy sponges ever since we got our first Body Shop/Bath & Body Works when I was in Middle School.
