Bride-to-be and oh yea, supermodel, Chrissy Teigen is one lucky lady. As the spokesperson for Gilette Venus, the brand threw her a bridal shower on the roof top of The Strand in NYC. The sun was shining and as soon as I walked in Chrissy recognized me from an earlier introduction at BetterTV. We began chatting about her upcoming nuptials and then she recognized I had a ring too. Bonding over men and cupcakes, my beauty editor friends flooded in and Chrissy revealed her wedding day prep to us all.

Soon on store shelves you’ll see more beauty products with “CEW Award Winner” stamps of approval on their packaging. Last Friday I attended the awards ceremony where the best of the best were celebrated at the Waldorf Astoria in NYC. There were over 650 entries and we (the industry) voted on 185 finalist. Sensitive skin affects millions in the US alone and according to the AAD, there are four distinct types — acne, rosacea, burning and stinging, and contact dermatitis (allergies and irritants), but they all share one thing, inflammation. While there may not be one mascara out there that does it all, throughout my years interviewing makeup artists, I’ve found that no matter what type of look you seek (length, volume or definition) one thing’s for sure – application is key. I’m sure you’ve heard it all before: take your time, wiggle the brush in between your lashes before pulling up for definition and of course, mixing formulas couldn’t hurt. However, I spoke with Celebrity Makeup Artist, Jake Bailey, who confessed the ultimate mascara tip that changes everything.

Zac Posen, Michelle Williams, Julianne Moore and Ashley Greene all turned to Celebrity Facialist, Joanna Vargas just days before the Met Gala to whip their skin into shape. She’s Hollywood’s constant go-to and you bet your butt I’ll be visiting her the day before my wedding. I had the pleasure of chatting with Joanna again about what the
hype of her facials is all about.
