Bloggers Unite to Fight Breast Cancer with Ralph Lauren’s Latest Campaign

With October being breast cancer awareness month, Ralph Lauren marks it’s 10th anniversary of Pink Pony – a campaign to raise awareness and funds in support of the disease that many (yes, even men) suffer from.

This year, 100 bloggers – including yours truly – are featured in the Polo campaign joining forces for the cause. It’s also the first year Polo Ralph Lauren is holding a Pink Pony online auction on Charity Buzz that will showcase over 100 items that will include everything from celebrity meet and greets to limited edition Ralph Lauren items.  100% of the proceeds will go to the Pink Pony Fund of The Polo Ralph Lauren Foundation.  To date, the foundation has raised over $40 million.

The auction begins this Friday, October 1st and runs through October 21st.  Place your bid today! Bidding’s not for you?  Text to donate: PINKPONY to 501501 to automatically donate $10.

(Like my Pink Pony polo from the shoot?  You can purchase it and donate!  Check out other bloggers pics and the rest of the campaign here.)

An AXE Giveaway That’ll Turn You (and Him) On

Last week I was talking about flirting with Flirt! cosmetics and besides mascara being a flirting secret weapon (wink) I have to say a sexy scent is an ultimate flirting must have.  Better yet, forget flirting. One whiff of an intoxicating blend can create  a complete throw-me-down-on-the-kitchen-counter reaction.  Ladies, you know what I mean.

As a matter of fact, according to a study done by AXE, two out of three women admitted they would be more likely to make out with a guy on a first date if his scent was right.  I’m asking what’s wrong with the rest of them?  There’s something so captivating about a good fragrance, but a difference between a good scent and an I-want-you scent.  If men were smart, they’d all use scent as their secret weapon. Hey, I do.

I will admit that I have one scent (out of about seven that I rotate between) that’s my signature sexy scent. Ladies, it turns guys on.  Everyone asks what it is, but I won’t tell them!  Like I said, it’s a secret weapon.

I strongly advise you to find your secret weapon and but better yet, help your guy out too.  AXE not only has their signature body sprays (which are intoxicating) but also hair care that smells sexy too.  I’m giving away full sets of shampoos to four different BeautySweetSpot readers so you can hook your men up!

The full giveaway includes one of each of their new scents: Downpour Refreshing Mint Shampoo, Heat Igniting Citrus 2 in 1 Shampoo + Conditioner, Zen Soothing Tea Tree Shampoo. Each scent is perfect for different times of day and your mans different moods and needs.  Trust me, he’ll thank you.

Budget Friendly Fall Beauty & Style Tips

Everyone knows you don’t need to spend a fortune to look like a million bucks.  Well, good news is after reporting on all of the backstage beauty trends and styles of New York Fashion Week’s Fall 2010 runways last spring I found several ways to take the hottest looks from runway to real way and will be talking about them for my next couple TV segments.  Here’s the scoop…

No matter what look you’re going for a they all start with a clear complexion.  I always recommend using a cleanser that’s effective yet affordable.  Noxzema‘s Original Deep Clean collection is great because the formula gets down into your pores to rid impurities and moisturizes your skin.  The brand also came out with an acne controlling line for adults that prevents and helps treat breakouts called Clean Blemish Control.  It’s secret ingredient: salicylic acid.  For those of you who need something a little stronger (more frequent breakouts), they have a line called Triple Clean.  Unlike some acne control products, these don’t strip your skin of moisture, which is key.  The scent of Noxzema alone does it for me!  All products are available for under $5.

Backstage at fashion week colorful liner was in.  You can make your peepers pop with Physician’s Formula Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Gel Cream Liners, $11.  Each set comes with three shades and are packaged to compliment different eye colors.  You can…

Exclusive Interview: Cindy Crawford Talks Beauty & Style

Last week I attended an event at the London Hotel with other bloggers and met the one and only Cindy Crawford.  I don’t normally write about beauty events I attend on a daily basis, but this one was like no other.  Cindy spoke about her skincare line Meaningful Beauty, which is launching in Sephora this October and dished her beauty secrets.

The most exciting part – I scored an exclusive interview with the super model (and I mean super model) on camera!  I have to say, she was the most gorgeous woman I have ever seen in my entire life.  And that says a lot because throughout my career I’ve met the all of Victoria’s Secret models like Giselle and Alessandra Ambrosio and tons of celebs, but Cindy was beyond stunning – in an all American kind of way.

Flawless at 44, promoting her skincare line, I had to ask a question that may have crossed the line at this type of beauty event.  I felt it was only proper for a journalist… So I shot…

Only Real Men Laser Down There, Or Do They?

When the Brazilian revolution hit America, women stormed out to their nearest salon to get waxed. Now men are joining the hairless movement and getting their bodies lasered – even down there. What a relief for 99.9% of American women whose boyfriends suffer from looking like a wooly mammoth (do women actually date those guys?).

When I was on the swim team in college, a male diver had chest hair was like Austin Power’s.  My teammate whispered to me, “If he has that much hair on his chest, imagine how much hair he has under his speedo.” From that day on hairless men has become the new rave. Most men want to be stylish and according to AskMen.com, their appearance is top priority. Men will do anything to impress women and that means removing their wool sweater.

“The latest male grooming trend is pointing the laser to the unmentionables –in addition to their brows, back of necks, backs, chests, and even knuckles,” remarked Jennifer Kandemir of Advanced Derma Laser Tech Inc.  So why remove the pubic hair?  Well, ladies you all know this.  Men are getting an ego boost from it because removing the hair around their shaft creates an illusion of a longer you-know-what.
