One Sweet Giveaway

I fell in love at first bite with Tasty Morsels Bakery and now I’m going to give you the chance to indulge in what hit my sweet spot.

Tasty Morsels Bakery creates the most delish goodies for even sweeter clientele including Mr. Robert Verdi and his celebrity friends, Chloe, DKNY, public relations firms and even BeautySweetSpot (yes, me!).  I’ve gifted them to clients and friends several times.

Curly Cues

With the plethora of hair products lining drugstore shelves specially formulated to give your flat, bed-headed mane some lift, shape, body, and volume, what’s a curly-haired gal, looking to avoid just that, to do?

Having tested any and every product on the market designed to tame fly-aways, define curls, smooth locks, and make the hair on my head appear as though it grows out vertically and not horizontally, I have emerged from my journey with two clear winners.  The miracle products:

Frédéric Fekkai  Brilliant Glossing Cream, $23

This thick yet silky hair cream developed by a world-renowned hair guru is well worth the investment.  It uses olive oil as the prime ingredient to promote unbeatable shine while keeping hair in place.  And since you only have to use about a dime-sized dollop, it might last you longer than you’d expect.

Meet Me & RapidLash this Friday

I have really exciting news!  For all of my New York City readers, this Friday I will be making an appearance at Duane Reade on 35th and Broadway as a spokesperson for RapidLash. From 1pm until 7pm I will be there on behalf of the brand handing out promotional materials and free products.

RapidLash, for those of you who aren’t familiar, is a lash and brow enhancement serum that I began using over a year ago. Yes, my lashes grew longer, but what amazed me the most was the way it helped me grow in my over-threaded brow.  My right brow was slightly thinner than the left.  Within three weeks of using RapidLash there was a significant difference.  I’ve been using the product every night before bed since.

Women In Need Inspire Through Conversation

Last week I attended an event that Women In Need held called “Conversations with Tina Brown and Alexandra Penney.”  Tina Brown is the Editor In Chief of The Daily Beast and Alexandra Penney just launched a new book called The Bag Lady Papers.

Women In Need provides homeless women and their families of NYC shelter and support throughout hard times and held this event in conjunction with two very successful women to show that homelessness can happen to anyone at any time.  Alexandra Penney, a well known journalist and author was a victim of Bernie Madoff and lost her life savings at the age of 60.

Monday’s Muse

This Monday’s Muse is Robert Verdi.

Last week during New York Fashion Week, I had the pleasure of going to Robert Verdi’s Luxe Laboratory and chatting with the celebrity stylist, turned brand himself about his fabulous life and brand new show on Logo, “The Robert Verdi Show, Starring Robert Verdi!”

As soon as I began my career in the beauty industry I met Robert Verdi and was immediately inspired by his passion and drive. This was the first time I saw him since I began my new freelance career. Therefore I took his words of advice to heart, “Be opportunistic, grateful and let it happen.”
